ParticipantWell if he is quiting because it doesn't sell as good as he expected, then one could assume he did it all for the money, no? And if that is the case, then why would he bother to pick it up again? Huh
I think he had something like 500 rough drawings of muscular women that he was trying to get rid of. I find it hard to believe that you would draw so much of a particular subject matter unless it was more than just a passing interest. The way I see it is that drawing is his first love and muscular women a close second. I guess he felt that his drawing skills, and perhaps a potential professional career, were suffering because of what he was drawing all the time. A similar thing happened to WreckShop and AOS. Thankfully, AOS made a full comeback and WreckShop now draws the odd muscular woman from time to time.
It's a pity FemXMan didn't come to this board and tell us the reasons himself.

ParticipantAs beautiful as Diana Ball is, I actually wouldn't want to see a bodybuilder in this role. I've seen her drawn in the comic with noticeable muscle tone, but never with bodybuilder proportions. If they wanted to chuck in a few bodybuilder types amongst the other Amazon women, I wouldn't complain though. They also have to consider her personality as much as her physique. She should have a commanding presence, ie someone who you could imagine leading an army into battle. Is "Alpha Female" an expression, as that's what I think of when I think of Wonder Woman. It's actually quite disheartening that there aren't many established actresses that fit the bill. I guess they would have no choice but to chose an unknown like Mimi said.

ParticipantI know it would never happen in a million years, but my absolute dream casting would be women's pole-vault world champion, Yelena Isinbayeva. Hell, stuff playing Wonder Woman in a movie, she could BE Wonder Woman! Just give her a lasso and a skimpy outfit, and the evil doers of this world wouldn't stand a chance.
As an aside, I thought the Wonder Woman project was put on hold when director Joss Whedon left. I heard he had "How I Met Your Mother"'s Cobie Smulders in mind for the role. Not the worst choice in the world, as long as she was willing to put on a bit of muscle of course.

ParticipantThat is sad to hear. He's a talented artist and a really nice guy. I don't have a problem with him wanting to start selling his art either. Each artwork takes many hours to complete. It's only fair to get something back for all the time you put in.
I reckon he'll be back one day though. I've learnt firsthand that this particular interest of ours isn't something that you can just turn off.

ParticipantAnyone who doubts the beauty of a muscular woman just needs to be shown this pic. Well done.

ParticipantThis really is hyping me up…and making me want to start work on my mugen again. Great work. Smiley
I hope you do finish off your MUGEN character. We could start our own tournament.

ParticipantThank you all for the encouragement. It means a lot.
Imari produces lots of game designs, but nothing ever comes of them… I would suggest that you'll get more satisfaction implementing your character first for an existing fighting engine such as M.U.G.E.N.
If you make your character as a MUGEN character, all you have to do is create a character rather than an entire game/engine. You can probably build a game around MUGEN too. Start small, and work up from there.
Yeah, I'm definitely planning on doing a port of this character for M.U.G.E.N., or even an RPG or platform engine. At the moment my main goal is to learn how to animate, and this is about the most fun way I can imagine doing it. If I can help someone else reach their goals at the same time then all the better. Also, there's precious little female muscle in games these days, so we've no choice but to create our own. Anyway, feel free to make suggestions for improvement, even if it's just, "Her boobs are giving me motion sickness". It all helps ;).

ParticipantSo where do I download the oil boy application form from?
I'm definitely giving SL a go. Only thing is I may never leave it.
