ParticipantWhat Eccentricman said makes sense, but I personally think you put emphasis on all the right areas. Sure the language is sophisticated, but it's not every day you can enjoy a hot muscle fantasy story and improve your vocab at the same time ;D.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

ParticipantWhoa, great suggestions people! And they're all going to be drawn by Stef.
Life is good!I like the gentle, understated muscle drawings as well as the dramatic, mythical, or even violent ones. If I'm not too late, I would like to suggest one from each. The Late Douglas Adams once used the simile "with the grace of a beautiful woman stepping into a bath" to describe the landing of a space craft. The only thing more graceful I can think of is a beautiful, muscular woman. My second suggestion is a massive, muscular goddess statute with people worshiping at its feet. My violent suggestion is a last woman standing scenario, where we see the badly beaten bodies of her foes and, although badly beaten herself, she is the victor.
By the way, Mimi, I hope you eventually post the rest of that story here. That little snippet sounded amazing.

ParticipantSkillful coloring job. Thanks for posting.

ParticipantI like these a lot. You always seem to put something into her expression that makes me wonder what she in thinking. Thanks for sharing them.

ParticipantOnce again you've totally managed to get the muscle shapes just right while adding an insane amount of mass. The veins are looking really realistic now as well. I can barely tell which ones have been added. Looking forward to seeing how you go about achieving the shredded look. Sue Price might be a good reference in addition to the artists you mentioned.

ParticipantI just found this thread and I have to say that your morphs are among the best I've seen, and your sketches aren't bad either. Making the muscles so mind-blowingly huge while preserving the proportion is no easy feat. I like that your enhancing the veins as well as the muscles. I mean if someone is going to have muscles that huge, they're definitely going to have some veins showing. Just remember that veins are a part of human anatomy just as much as muscles are, and so shouldn't be drawn just anywhere. They also vary in size. Tigersan posted some anatomy pictures a while back, which included a diagram of veins for the arms and legs. Here's the link if you are interested:

ParticipantFirst off, don't you dare start over! This picture is awesome!
I don't mind the way the beam is bending. I just looks like she just did a pose and the beam just had to conform to it, ie no effort involved at all.
In terms of anatomy and proportion I have a few minor quibbles, though:
– The anatomy of her right quad seems a bit inaccurate. The split in the Rectus Femoris should be in the same direction as the leg. Also, I would merge the outline of the Vastus Lateralis with the outline of the thigh instead of having them overlap. Maybe sneak a peak at a reference photo of a bodybuilder if you don't understand what I'm talking about.
– I would also put the detail of where the Sartorius and Tensor Fasciae Latae connect to the pelvis. With her legs spread apart like that, I think they would be prominent.
– It also seems like her torso is a bit long compared to the rest of her body. Also, her upper arms appear to be a bit too short, but that could be a foreshortening effect.
– Also, her torso seems to be at a 3/4 angle but her pelvis straight on, without any indication of a twist. Perhaps, you could tuck her left hip in a bit so her pelvis looks like its turning away more.Anyway, look forward to the finished product. I'm sure your friend will love it!
PS Sorry for all of the anatomy terms, but looking at your drawings I'm sure you know your way around an anatomy book.

ParticipantThat's hot!
If only someone would make a reality TV show based on this picture. They've already done "Beauty and the Geek", they should have "Amazons and Geekyators"!

ParticipantWell it depends how big is your sculpt going to be. This one is about 16 inches tall and I used over 4 pounds of clay so far. Those pictures reflect current progress, i havent done anything further yet. I took a break just to look at what i done so far, to find flaws and think of the way of fixing them. My main flaw seems to be short legs, so im thinking about raising the hips a little bit.
You can buy it at art stores, i did… Wink
What type of "SuperSculpey" are you using? Did you have to mix it with any other type of polymer clay? I ask because traditional SuperSculpey has that translucent bubblegum look that you seem to have avoided.
Lengthening the legs shouldn't be too hard. You could cut your armature at the knees and add in an extension of armature wire to each knee, using a blob of Epoxy Putty to attach it at each end. Even when the putty is dry you will still be able to wiggle the wire in and out. For this reason, a lot of sculptors do this with many of the joints from the outset, as it lets you disassemble the sculpture at any point during the sculpt. This is useful for sculpting limbs on their own if it is a difficult pose or molding and casting the finished sculpt…hint.
Can't wait to see some more progress shots when you get back to it.
