ParticipantOne real quick note before I retire. I honestly wish Ben Dunn would have done more with the Warrior nun series, like NHS I love a lot of his Amerimanga style. Myself, as well out of the Parochial school system wondered if Ben ever met the Sinsinnawan Dominicans that taught me cause it seems like I had Arealla in 1st and then again in fourth and had Mother Superion in 5th grade. ( Instead of yieilding a sword they could probably do damage with those rosaries if they practiced.)
Come to think about it one of my Math teachers in High School was a combination of Mother Superion and Granny Goodness. Nightmare time Boys and girls, Nightmare Nightmare.
( I should make fun of my fifth grade teach like that she was old shool and she taught well.)Paul Schilling
ParticipantI’m gonna run this up the old flag pole and see if anyone salute
You know with all the changes in costumes I have an idea, and this would be just a test. When the late Wally Wood was working with Joe Orlando on the All Star Squadron, Wood had a great idea no hole in Powergirl’s chest( all he did was ever so slightly increase her bust size ervery couple issues.) I would have to agree with Wood that it would accentuate the rest of the female form. It would definitely stop the race to see how much overflow you can push out of a hole.
So how bout Boys and girls should we start a campaign to the power that are at DC (you know the ones that gave WW new jacket) to fix the hole. ๐ ๐  ๐ฟ

ParticipantI went to high school with Kate Mulgrew, in fact I took my mother (God rest her) to see Fiddler on the Roof which was the senior class musical. Kate played Chava. She went from being a bad Jewish girl who married outside the faith to a starship captain somewhere in another galaxy. Now that’s a jump.

ParticipantWell Boys and Girls are you ready to stop the ranting on Wonder Woman’s new streetwise look? If not let me point out some more info. Get in your TARDIS’ or what ever you call your way-back machine and find a copy of Teen Titans #23 drawn by Nick Cardy, and notice Donna Troy, Wonder Girl at that time went from the classic Wonder Woman look to a sleeveless bodysuit and boots and not one of us complained.
Now jump ahead to 1999 when Cassie Sandmark took over the mantle in Young Justice #4 and then in the Teen Titan run from 2003 she got rid of the dark wig and googles for a couple of different type of outfits through out the run no one said a word.
I guess what I’m trying to say is this would you rather see Diana in a new costume or like in Miller and Lee’s All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder # 5 going around dissing mans world and telling them things like Out of my way, Sperm bank”

ParticipantWonder Woman has been running at DC for a long time. She started in a bustiere and a mini-skirt that was the colors of the flag. and then went into her other changes through out the Century. Now, the book is not even in the top 10 books selling at DC and according to an agreement with the Marston Estate, WW can be YANKED from DC if they stop producing the book. Now over a half century later a writer comes on the book that says we give her an urban look to Diana and make her forget every thing she knows, enter the blind sage Cassandra who tells everything she knows to Diana. Cassandra is one who is not to believed, Diana believes her. For Those who read comic books re-read the splash-page of “All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder” #5 Diana’s got quite an attitude toward men given to her by Frank Miller. Her whole outlook at Metropolis and calling men “sperm bank” plus her thoughts on the JLA made for some offensive reading. But Frank Miller is known for his attitude.
What I’m trying to say is we let that go BUT change her costume and make her forget who she is as part of a storyline, and everyone goes Ballistic.
To quote Milller “Pray that just once… the men have the guts to do what needs doing.” I’m gonna pay fair and give J. Michael a chance to prove himself and maybe save a floundering book.
P.S.
Happy birthday Michael (even if it’s belated by a day) ๐Paul Schilling

ParticipantThank you Number 6, Make it so … Bowties are cool… Jimmy Olsen wore one for how long, the late Paul Simon wore one… Even Playboy bunnies wear them… That’s it, you want class give Wonder Woman a bowtie. ๐

ParticipantOne more thing gang, (and this just dawned on me .) Debra Winger who played Diana’s little sister Drusilla was on David Letterman some time back and she said she was having trouble with Wonder Girl’s costume. she said the problem was being full figured at that time they didn’t put stays (sic) in her costume like they did Lynda Carters. Now This might cause a problem if they make a movie or not.

ParticipantDon’t make me angry Mr. Luthor. You wouldn’t like me if I’m angry. “Now”

ParticipantMy turn again I guess. I must confess I go back to the very beginning of the Marvel Mutant heroes (and no I only buy things to do with She-Hulk, Ben Grimm or “Interesting” Marvel charectors now… And don’t get me started on those stupid zombies. Oh yes boys and girls I go back to 1963, the year Kennedy was shot and the year Doctor Who started it’s 40 year run (and I don’t see no “Whovians” bitching about the new Doctor and he changes everything not just his costume.
In fact let me go back even a little further to 1958 when DC introduced Supergirl in may ( I think it was around my 1st birthday. Now the Girl of Steel is 52 years old has had three (or more) costume changes. 2 or 3 different restarts. NOT ONE NO NOT ONE OF YOU complained about the end of her second run with Peter David writing the storyline and he even said he was trying to save the book and the Direction he went in ALMOST did it That what Stratzynski is trying to do and that is save sales on a book that’s been sinking for a long time. The Marstin estate has jurisdiction over Wonder Woman to yank in out from under DC’s feet if they stop producing the book. Trust me I’d hate to see what could be done by others.
My rant is done I’m getting off my soapbox now. I’m suffering from what should be known as “Unemployment Cabinfever,” so don’t take my rant’s to serious folks ๐
