Mission Architect is now live in City of Heroes.

If any city of Heroes players want to check out "Amazon Avatars", it's arc number 5909.

Also now on the live servers, Arc #6143  "Escalation"
in this arc, in the first mission you encounter a female mad scientist villain who's big thing is being able to jump into clone bodies to fight another day.  Since she mass produces them, the clone bodies start a little underdeveloped.

After the first mission, when you defeat her, she starts upgrading the physical capabilities of her clones.  Each mission she gets bigger, more developed, and stronger.

thanks for the supportive words, Black Kusanagi and Cowprobe.

I'll have to see if I can get a few good screenshots, when I get the chance.
It's Open Beta, so NDA no longer an issue.

Cowprobe, you are quite right, this fearue is going to be an incredible resource, with all the custom player-made content it's going to generate.  This could have a major impact on the entire MMPOG community if it's a success.

I'll let people know when the Mission Architect goes live, and maybe people can get Trial Accounts and check things out.

I had an idea for another arc which would be also kinda Amaz0ns territory.  Have a mad scientst supervillainess who starts out as a 4 foot tall (minimum COH height) Mastermind (minion class) with robots doing her fighting.

Defeat her, and next spawn, she used a strength formula, and moved up to a 5 foot tall scrapper with energy guantlets for extra punch.  (Engergy Melee scrapper, Leiutenant class)

defeat her again, she takes another dose of the formula, next spawn is a 6 foot tall version of her, and she doesn't need the gauntlets anymore.  (Boss class, Martial Arts, so she attacks barehanded)

next dose of the formula, she's 7 feet tall, using Super Strength attack set, and is Elite Boss class

and in the final fight, after the maximum dose of the formula, she's Archvillain class, 8 foot tall (max for City of Heroes in humanoid figures), and has SuperStrength at extreme levels plus a good defense set.

Of course, with each step of "upgrade", move the Physique and Chest-size slider up some step  (minimum, 25%, halfway, 75%, maxed)

I should probably write that arc…. if only to play it myself.  🙂

    I love my d10 gag!  😀

You have a device that gags someone with a d10?

wow, that mixes Role-playing with….well, the other kind of role-playing.

    Kinky.  🙂

although, that must be a darn big d10 to gag someone with…..

it sounds like the players are the movers and shakers which is awesome in a superhero game. A lot of Game Masters are buisy showcasing there favorite non-player characters that the players get left out of the spot light.

yeah, Aberrant is kinda tailor-made for the players being earth-shaking in their impact on things.  This particular game takes that to a whole 'nother level.  🙂

Granted this isnt a style of RP I do…but is it fun?

tabletop role-playing games aren't for everyone, but I and my friends have a LOT of fun with it.
every Thankgiving, a bunch of my college friends gather for the week, and it's pretty much a given that "Shag will run the Aberrant game"

now, with pen-and-paper RPGs, a lot depends on the GameMaster/Storyteller.  I like to think I do a good job with it.  and there's the geeky stereotype stuff of pouring over rules and doing the math to figure out how to best build your character, or to use their special abilities.  But, all in all, it can be a great outlet for creativity.

For me, it's a way to tell a story, where I can just have a rough outline, then see how the players in the game react to it, and take it from there, seeing the story involved.  When I write a comic script, I have to get every little detail hammered out, and it's all on me.  With an RPG session, I just get the basic idea, dive in, and I've got the players to engage with and help fill in the little details.  At it's best, P&P RPGs are a neat mix of co-op storytelling and improv theatre.

I'm very, very lucky to have a GREAT player group.  Smart, creative, energetic, and fun to hang out with.  Not to mention that one lady in the group created Olga, since the superheroine she wanted to play was a busty, well-muscled giantess.

sorry but I'm going to ask agaming geek question. The cap on strength increase due to the growth power is Mega strength five. Did you get rid of that cap in your game?

In the Aberrant Player's Guide, they included a new Extra for Density Increase called "Exteme Density" which allowed that power to reach Mega-Strength 6

I created a parallel Extra for Sizemorph(Grow) called "Expansive Might", which lets a giant sized character reach a maximum Mega-Strength rating of (Quantum Attribute + Active Sizemorph Rating)

this lets Olga reach Mega-Strength 9, but she has to be 180 feet tall (Sizemporh 5) to reach that level.  Which does limit her considerably.

the 45 auto-successes to damage from that huge Mega-Strength is pretty awesome. But the campaign has been going over 8 years, and a lot of the recurring villains are Quantum 6 or higher. A Quantum Bolt with Mastery easily matches or exceeds Olga's raw damage capacity.

Powera can take quite a few punches from Olga, having stacked Armor and Force Field powers with a high Mega-Stamina.

Im sure Powera will break her later…but still excellent pic dude. 🙂

Rooting for the bad girl, huh?  🙂

Olga vs. Powera is always a fun fight.  Olga has the edge in raw power, since her super-strength is boosted to ridiculous levels by her size increasing powers.  Powera, on the other hand, has mobility and 3D movement with flight and some other tricks.
