Eric JohnsonParticipant
Saw it after a friend recorded it for me.
Pretty good overall.
Loved the Professor’s line “I love a stalwart female physique as much as the next guy but…”
Missed a great chance to have another appearance by the women from Amazonia. Having one of them be a workout partner for Amy and Leela, or something like that. Or Leela picking a fight with woman from Amazonia in a bar, to show her aggression and overconfidence.
Eric JohnsonParticipantPurchased. Downloaded. Watched. Enjoyed. 🙂
To compliment something that might get overlooked, pretty good acting there, James. You sold the “I’m freaking out and want no more part of this” reaction.
Next time, better bring some questions that Annie approves of! 🙂
Eric JohnsonParticipantThe preview pics for the next 8 foot Annie look great!
Quite eager to see how it turns out.
Liking the fact that you’ve got some strength feats planned (breaking that tree). That’s a good demonstration, as an 8 foot tall version of Annie is going to be crazy strong.
And also like seeing the use of good scale establishers, like having her near the vehicle.
Eric JohnsonParticipantBrand new coloring by Darcsyde of a Fuerza pic by Darcsyde.
Eric JohnsonParticipant>Jen still has better Iso-8 slotted for much higher stats though
Which kind of Iso-8 crystal-thingies do you like, Shag? I gave Jen the one that boosts Health, Attack & Defense (she has 2 of those, so far)…
With Jen, boosting Health, Attack, Defense is good. Attack boosts damage which increases her “quick burst of damage early in the fight” approach. Her defense stat is solid, so boosting it more is good. A little accuracy is good too, to get more criticals, and so she doesn’t get dodged too often. And with Burst of Speed and two attacks, Jen can burn through the stamina quickly, but you CAN get around that by just having your agent feed her Stamina packs from the supplies on the agent action.
You’ve probably noticed that it’s better to slot Iso-8 that boosts two or three thing rather than just one stat, for the most part. Slotting 3 Health/Atk/Def, will get you more than slotting 1 Health, 1 Attack, 1 Defense.
In the long run, shoot for getting the Chaotic Iso-8, which boost all stats at once. You need to Research a LOT to unlock those in the store though.
You do get 1 Gold every time you level your agent and 1 Gold every time you reach 4 Star Mastery in a Mission, so you can save those in the long run to buy Refined Chaotic Fragments (after Chips, there are Fragments, then Shards, with bigger bonuses) By the time you are high enough level, should be easy to save up enough Gold to buy 8 Refined Chaotic Fragments (5 Gold each, so 40 Gold total) which would be enough to slot out a level 12 Jen (max level) with the best overall gear. Don’t use Gold to buy Chips which you’ll just replace later with better stuff (I did that, so avoid my mistake)
Eric JohnsonParticipantI realized that’s probably the issue. I can’t figure out how to “unequip” items… 🙁
The only way to un-equip something is to equip a different piece of gear in it’s place.
Eric JohnsonParticipantI joined the site for a month’s membership back when 8 foot Annie came out and will no doubt do the same when the sequel is released.
I liked 8 foot Annie, and some of your shots were quite clever.
There was one small “tell” for me, if you look at the sample screenshot, his shadow is falling on the couch, while Annie doesn’t have a shadow there. That tells my eye that he’s closer to the couch than she is and breaks the spell of the forced perspective a bit, at least for me. Probably not a problem for 90% of the population. Those 3D pictures you stare at with unfocused eyes don’t work for me either.
Also, I think you underestimated 8-Foot-Annie’s weight.
I’ll get really nerdy here for a second…
If Annie is 166 pounds at 5’5″ (from her website)
linear scaling factor of going from 5’5″ to 8 feet is 96/65
since she scaled up in all 3 dimensions evenly, the scaling for volume and mass is (96/65)*(96/65)*(96/65)
so 8 foot tall weight should be roughly: 166 * 1.47 * 1.47 * 1.47 = 527 pounds
if she was at contest weight of 158, then 8 foot weight would be 502 pounds
Yes, that would make 8-foot-Annie heavier than the world’s tallest man, but most tall people are narrow for their height, and they don’t bodybuild and put on dense muscle. 🙂maybe she lowballed her weight because she thought the general audience wouldn’t believe the real numbers? 🙂
My geeky diversions aside, I liked 8 foot Annie, was a first time paying customer to the website because of it, and look forward to the sequel.
I can think of lots of things you could do with the character of 8-Foot-Annie. She could talk about small other people seem compared to her, discuss the huge amount of protein she has to eat, mention how everything has to be custom-made for her, and so on.
Best of luck with the next video!
Eric JohnsonParticipantShe definitely looks amazing.
At 6’2″, Would love to see her in shots that show off the height a bit, with clearer reference points around her.
Eric JohnsonParticipant:woohoo: Positively great one, you got here, Shag! B)
And if I’m right and you’re the one who commissioned it, I must congratulate you for both the art, and the fact you helped Darcsyde, doing it: I heard he had big money troubles recently. *bow*yeah, Darc has been my go-to guy for coloring Sinclair pieces for a while now.
And I’ve known him at least in passing since I used to hang out on the She-Hulk message board a lot, years ago.
So, had to help him out when I could. 🙂
Eric JohnsonParticipant>Also there is button you click to complete the sale
Where is this [sell] button? That is the problem. I don’t see any button on the right side, except a “Compare” button, at the top… 🙁
After you click the Store button the main page, there should be a Sell Items button on the top right.
After you click that, you need to click on one of the items in the right hand screen to select it as the on the one you want to sell. Only once you have an item selected will the red Sell button appear.
NOTE: You can’t sell items you currently have equipped. If you try to do that, the Sell button won’t appear. That’s probably the issue.
Also, the game defaults to only showing you the weapons (Gear). Be sure to click on the tabs for Supplies and Resources to see other things you might be able to sell.
