ParticipantAlas, I can relate. Took me a while to get back to it as well. But even if you never post again, it's nice to have your "voice" back with us for a time! :-*
Hmm. I'm getting really behind…I should stop reading forums and get back to the MSWord doc…
heh.-Kate
My voice has been with Amaz0ns since it was the She Grows forum a couple of years ago, I just lurk a lot more than I used to :). And by all means, get back to your doc. ;D

ParticipantI rented it the other day (for my Xbox 360) and despite drooling over the pre release hype for months and having loved the System Shock games (to which BioShock is only a spiritual succesor, the stories are completely unconnected.) I got bored with it quickly and actually returned it early. I got fairly far in, about 6 or 7 levels and something about the game just turned me off. It did a lof of things amazingly well and by all rights I should have played it for five days straight with little to no sleep like I do with every new release I get my hands on but it just didn't do it for me. I'll probably try it again when I get some days off and see if my opinion changes any.

ParticipantAw shucks <blush> Thanks Silent One!
You know, I remember reading YOUR stuff too…and you needn't live up to your name. 'Bout time we see some of your classics reappear too! 🙂

I appreciate the interest in my work but I honestly don't know if I'll ever go back to posting my fiction again. I've toyed with the idea a few times and I have a number of aborted attempts scattered about my hard drive. I just haven't been able to recapture the muse since I left in mid 2000. When I left I left behind two unfinished stories and as a writer those unfinished stories eat at me. I've found myself completely unable to write anything else because the unfinished works hover in the back of mind demanding release but I've never been able to bring myself to finish them because some emotional baggage from that time is still firmly associated with them. Yea, I know this is probably something far more in depth than you were expecting by way of reply but I've only recently come to realize what the core of my on going writers block has been about. Maybe someday I'll contribute again but I wouldn't want anyone to hold their breath or anything.

ParticipantExcellent as always. Looking forward to the chance to read more.

ParticipantAs much as I would agree that Katie Holmes isn't suited to the part (too waiflike) I think you're confusing her personal life with her ability to act. If someone could act the role and make me believe they were WW I could care less about the finer details of their life off the silver screen. Which is all just academic anyway since it seems like this project has the coffin lid firmly nailed in place.

ParticipantBack when I dabbled in morphing I used GIMP exclusively. I just found it more intuitive than Photoshop. Some of my morphs ended up posted here at one point, you can check them out and I assure you that any limitations you see are of the user not the program.
And I agree with ScottG, the girl in your avatar is awesome.

ParticipantIt's always nice to see the science angle pursued instead of just "she grew big just because". As usual your stories have far deeper character development than the norm (which is why I like them so much.) Keep up the awesome work.

ParticipantMr. G? NottheMr. G? It's great to see you again. This thread feels like the ZZZs board reunion thread. ;D
Kate, I missed this the first time around, thanks for posting it again for me to enjoy. I like what you have so far so please hurry up with the editing and posting (not like I have much room to talk, how long has it been since I posted anything?) It's awesome to see you writing again.

ParticipantYou know what, I scoured the remains of my archives (backed up now on CD) and I can find no trace of the mega/daydream story. I could have sworn I had all of my stories backed up in form or another, either in the orginal ASCII, bastardized html, ancient MS Word, or even a cut and paste copy text file. No trace. I apologize for getting your hopes up though now that I really think about it I think we had almost this exact conversation a number of years ago. It would probably be too much to hope that someone from ZZZs old boards saved a copy of it somewhere.

ParticipantHeh! What've you got? Post with pride!
That's the thing, all this has been posted before, albiet 6+ years ago. 😛
Alex, if that's all you have then you must be missing the Goth's night out story (one of my personal faves) the Flower of Youth and the 6 prelude stories that bridged the gap between the original Necklace and the Necklace 2 (which still sadly remains unfinished to this day though I do have a few chapters completed and I think some of them actually got posted on ZZZs old board.) I'll bundle the lot of them together for you and email them. When you see the original ASCII files you'll see why I haven't polished them and reposted them, the effort involved is daunting due to formatting/incompatibility issues from my venerable old word processor and my current PC. Since you are one of the mighty moderators which part of Amaz0ns would be best suited for my offerings if and when I ever do repost them?
