Saw the movie yesterday. The answer to the main question is – nope.

The movie is overly confusing, although I followed the gist of it. I won’t be buying the DVD (if they’re still making them by then [that’s called sarcasm])

I wish she’d come visit me, I haven’t been able to open this jar of peanut butter for years.

Only two I can think of off the top of my head are NAPOLEON DYNAMITE and THE CELL, neither one a superhero movie, of course. Angela Basset had a muscle or two in WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT. Spice Williams in Star Trek, but that did nothing for me. Maybe it’s because Harry Winebeerstein tried to get them on the casting couch and they kicked his big butt.

As Johnny Cash once sang, “I hang my head and cry.”

They don’t get it, and I fear they never will.

I rented, some time ago, the first disc of the first season, and those four episodes were enough for me. I can suspend my disbelief up to a point, but not farther. I remember there were three or four sequences I just could not believe. The only one I can remember is when Kara, in her street clothes no less, is engulfed in flames, which would have burned every stitch of clothing off of her body, and comes out of it with a few smudges. I also seem to recall a scene where her feet are skidding along a railroad track (I may be wrong about this), and the heels don’t completely disappear from the friction. The same thing also applies when you lift an airplane, a huge apartment building or a frozen lake by the corner. The entire structure would fall apart or you’ll end up with a piece of wing tip or frozen shard in your hand.

And if they were covered from head to toe they’d find something to complain about THAT!

Those scenes went by so fast you could hardly comprehend them before the next quick cut flashed by anyway. To me, that was the only interesting part about the whole movie.

    Oh well, I tried.

Maybe I’ll try a Cleopatra alternate history story, who knows? I like that artwork.
