ParticipantI see the little red letters, but I pay them no mind! Bwah-ha-ha!
Rick, did Warren ever finish this story for you? If so, I'd love to read it. If not, let me know and I'll try and work something up over the next couple days or so if you're still interested.

Participantfrom the Silent One:
Alex, if you want a copy of the daydream short short or any other of my stories let me know, I have backups, most still in the original ASCII files they written in.
oo! oo! Can I get it too? I'm still VERY new at writing the FMG stuff, and would love to get my grubby mitts on anything that comes so highly recommended!

Participantsighs dreamily…drools…falls over in a dead faint…
<thump!>
seriously, I think one of my all time favorite Caitlin depictions was done by Adam Hughs in the 2-part Ordinary Heroes. The Gen13 kids have been knocked out of the sky, and Caitlin is set upon by a Black Razor, or some such high-tech baddie, gets seriously p.o.ed and picks up a car to beat them with. One of the all time great musclegirl quotes, too: "Gonna hit you…with a…CAR!"
Priceless! Wish I could still find those comics. Sigh.
Oh, and I've obviously missed the joke (although I find it funny for my own dark, twisted reasons- hossenpfeiffer on the hoof! evil grin!)

ParticipantIt was a brilliant story to begin with. Now it's simply awe-inspiring!
<blinks muzzily> how did I miss this? Thanks, gblock01. I'm glad this story is getting such a positive response, especially because it's a bit out of the mainstream for this forum.
The next chapter will probably be a couple days, purely because I'm kind of tired. I wanted to get another chapter of Second Chance out, but I still have to go running, train, teach karate… I should probably make a point of eating and sleeping in there, at some point, too…

ParticipantOh, most definitely badinator41. I would've actually paid money to see that (and I pretty much don't pay money for much of anything these days- sux to be po')
And if you were wondering about the Buffinator comment, I think Xander actually calls her that a couple of times throughout the series. I don't remember which epis, anymore, and it's probably not really important, but I like the series enough that I may watch it again just to find out… 😀

ParticipantHmmm, don't know what you think, stmercy, but I reckon it seems that we're the only guys on here who appreciate that side of things – you know, the idea that it's cool for a woman to be powerful and independent (know what i mean? ;D ;)) Looks like all the other folks here just go for the "whoa, she's hot" reaction and don't think any deeper than that. ;D 😉 ::)
I've been pondering this for awhile, now. I actually decided to let this sit for a day to see if anything came to the surface from this, as I know that a large part of the reason cpbell's post was phrased the way it was was as an attempt to get a reaction beyond pure apathy.
I think what may be happening here is that the question is kind of too broad, and too easily answered by a simple 'yes' or (unlikely on this forum) 'no.'
That said, I'd like to take the question in a slightly different direction. As cpbell pointed out, it is very difficult for a woman to "lose femininity"- it isn't exactly a limited commodity, after all. If you are born a woman, you are, by definition, feminine, at least biologically. The problem comes in with social norms- what women and men are expected to do in order to be perceived as womanly women or manly men.
What I think would be an interesting question is: what limits should a woman- or a man, for that matter, but this is a board about amaz0ns ;D- be allowed and/or expected to go to when defending herself? Are those limits different if a woman gains physical power? (The argument that, essentially, Might Makes Right- most people I think would answer no, but that is one of the most basic rules society is based on: people who have power make the rules, people who have no power are forced to submit)
Are there any sorts of extenuating circumstances that might change the equation- make more or less acceptable?
As an example, I would point out that there used to be a law in MI- I believe it is no longer enforced, but it may still be on the books- that said that if you were attacked you had to back away and state that you "did not want to fight" three times before you were allowed to defend yourself. There was, however, an exception, called the 'Castle Rule,' which basically said that if you were a) protecting your immediate family (spouse or children), b) at your home, or c) at your place of business, you did not have to give warning in the event of an attack.

ParticipantI'm reminded of a similar topic brought up on dustybottom's ManKillers blogsite.
Look at "A serious question" as you scroll down this page, then read the comments:
http://mankillers.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.htmlIt's a pretty interesting read…

ParticipantBoy, I can allredy picture this car wash: Broken windows, bent doors etc. ;D
Or how about Sylph lifting the cars, so the other girls can wash it underneath? You seem to have picked up on a theme in these stories… 😉
Sylph means well, but the world is kind of just not made for a girl on her scale…
Actually, if you check the request thread, you'll see I've placed a request for one- or many- of the artists there to do a pic of the carwash in question. Here's praying someone will take up the gauntlet! ;D

ParticipantWAH! I wish I could draw, but since I can't (I just tried. The results were… bad…) I'm going to describe a situation- if it helps, I might be able to make stick figures, but I doubt it. Obviously, if no one is interested in doing this, feel free to tell me to bugger off and I'll go back and crawl under my rock and try and lick the salt from my wounds…
Sylph: She's really, freakin' enormous-type big, but kind of short. Think the human version kulli did of Lu, retaining all the mass, but squished down to about 5'5" (about 1.65m). She's (barely) wearing a bikini, holding up a car with one hand and spraying the tires with a hose held in the other hand.
Bekka: She's actually on the hood (bonnet) of the car sponging down the windscreen with a soapy sponge. She's slightly taller than Sylph, about 5'6" (1.68m), but built on a much more normal scale, except for her enormous boobs. The visual model I was thinking of for this character was DCM's Dr. Sonya Gannon/Beta.
Jen: A tall, statuesque blonde, about 6'0" (1.83m), slender and fit- a Charlize Theron with shoulders type character. She's wearing a bikini top with daisy dukes, sunglasses, and holding a hose that she's just aimed at…
Kalida: The buffest of the non-uber-buff characters, Kalida stands about 5'8" or so (1.73m) and is built like Mavi Gioia in the off-season, just a hint of arms, quads, and abs all attached to an amazing ass. Kalida is wearing bikini bottoms and a baby-doll belly t-shirt. She's holding a towel that isn't doing her a bit of good at the moment as she is being thoroughly hosed down by Jen.
As I've tried my best to get this to come out on paper several times, and ended up with things that make Picasso look like a realist by comparison, I'm gonna toss this out into the ether once more and see if anything picks it up. As an aside- any artists out there who have characters drawn, but haven't managed to figure out how to put their stories into written form- drop me a line. I'd love to collaborate with anybody who can stand working with me.
