The sexy heroines who show off their bodies will never disappear. Characters will be invented and reinvented for years to come. I believe it is much more important for women to be able to identify with female superhero designs than it is to pander to us who have been pandered to since the beginning of comics.

Nothing is ever going to stop female superheroes from being depicted in a sexy way. Power Girl isn’t going to go anywhere and I’m sure someday we’ll see She-Hulk all muscled up and in a bikini once again. If anything, all this change is going to do is add more outfits to the roster and get women more involved in comics.

Wouldn’t it be better to be able to talk superhero comics with a sexy female geek than to have her left out of the conversation because she doesn’t want to look at giant tits?

Besides, when you have places like Deviantart around and this community, a new artwork depicting a muscular Wonder Woman in her classic outfit is never far behind.

The industry has been dominated by male whims for too long, I think it’s time to let the ladies in and see what they bring to the table. After all, the original Vampirella outfit was designed by a woman.

They’re not going to do such a drastic change like that. Lou Ferrigno would not be the stunt double for Bill Bixby. They would play two different characters.

They’re going to match actresses who look like they could pass for each other at a distance, including physique. It’d be nice if the lead actress would put on some muscle for the role but if they did that, they’d probably do their own stunts unless it was super dangerous or extremely complex.

This link will sum up the last I need to say on the subject.

They wouldn’t use the 5’3″ actress to tackle a taller actor. That’s what the stunt/body double is for. For close ups and medium shots they’ll use the main actress. For long shots or quickly edited shots, the body double with the right height will be used.

Let’s put it this way. If Kate Mara was cast as Captain Marvel and a fight scene were to happen. They’d swap Mara out with Ronda Rousey and have her do all the physicality stunts.

Again, the height argument is pointless when it comes to movies. Acting ability and having someone be believable in the role is infinitely more important.

It’d be nice to get an actress who has a bulkier physique, but quite frankly no actress exists that has an incredible body and knows how to act. The talent pool selection is extremely limited. I’d rather have a talented actress with the wrong body type than a body builder who’s stiff and sounds like an idiot and can’t emote for crap.

Damn, I know I read somewhere that they needed to accommodate for height reasons. Ah well, must have been another show.

I will erase my Xena example and replace it with Lord of the Rings. Gandalf visiting the hobbits and Gimli who is actually a giant of a man in real life. I didn’t hear anyone complaining that this huge dude was cast as a dwarf!

Guys, I don’t know why you keep on getting hung up on height.

Filmmakers can make anyone look gigantic or small.

Did you know that Xena was actually shorter than her co-star Gabrielle?

Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone are short guys and yet they appear larger than life in film. Now granted, someone like Kate Mara probably wouldn’t be able to pull off the height thing but it doesn’t matter.

What’s most important is 1.) Acting ability. 2.) Presence 3.) Physicality (in movement)

Seriously, stop getting hung up on height. That’s why they call it movie magic.

I actually did chuckle at that little short. That line where they say, “I smell . . . DICK!” Made me laugh out loud. But damn, those guys got lucky with how they were mauled.

Photobucket tends to have caps and will not load the image if too many people start viewing it. At least, that’s been my experience.

They’re probably sourced from imagebam unfortunately. Ever since imageshack went subscription it’s been impossible to find a decent image hosting site that allows you to post female bodybuilders and nudity for free.

My recommendation is to use a script blocker on imagebam and then you won’t see any of these malware issues.
