ParticipantWell, in all fairness, all it took for Hal Jordan to have a turnaround from evil galactic scumbag to superhero was a six issue mini-series.
I just feel really bad for all the Iron Man fans out there; can you imagine having your favorite character turn into a bad guy? It can't be good for sales!
Here's my thinking; Marvel wasn't intending for people to have such a negative reaction to Iron Man. They wanted to create a morally ambiguous character who, while he believed in doing good things, nevertheless had a questionable way of going about achieving them.
Unfortunately, in comics, especially Superhero comics, that Alan Moore slant to superheroes can only go so far before people start hating characters.
Can we all say that we really liked what happened to a majority of the characters at the end of Watchmen? (Don't spoil it for those who haven't read it 😉 ).
So, in trying to create a hero for the 21st century who would do whatever it takes to save the world, Marvel instead created one of the biggest evil scumbags in comic book history. Here's to hoping Hulk's thumping of him knocked some sense into his tin plated head.
(Go She-Hulk!)

ParticipantI don't know, Smurfpranos sounds like a pretty funny idea.
"Gargamel! Papa Smurf says you haven't been paying your protection money. Cough it up!"
"Not before I make a stew–"
BAM! BAM!
"Shoulda paid up, you creepy old man."

ParticipantI think the majority opinion is that Tony Stark must die or at least have a ton of sense knocked into him. He's really lost sight of what it means to be a hero.
That being said, I think they got Shulkie right so far in WWH. She shouts out "No!" when the missiles are streaking towards her cousin. That's a pretty far cry from Mark "I've got me hand up Shulkie's arse so she can say whatever I want her to" Millar. I'm looking forward to seeing how Greg Pak writes her for the rest of the series.

ParticipantOh my good God…
You have GOT to be KIDDING me!
What's next? Teddy Ruxpin as a Jerry Bruckheimer action hero?
(For more on this idea, see Penny Arcade. At least this idea makes me smile instead of cry.)

ParticipantCriminy… gar gar gar gar gar 😮

ParticipantLooking good, Scott. Keep it up! Very nice pose on the two ladies. It works very well.

ParticipantAgreed, DCM. Slice of life in female muscle is a hard thing to come by, no pun intended. It helps ground the idea that this stuff could happen in real life. I'm sure it does, but never to the effect that we all like to see it as :D.

Participantlol, I don't even see an X =(

ParticipantGod only knows. But if the theory holds that he just wasn't in his right state of mind from steroid use, I hate to think of it. There's depression and then there's that state where you're not even yourself. I hate to imagine what he was thinking of that made him think that it was the only logical thing to do.
However, let's try to not focus on that. We should do our best to remember the best in him and let his worst be a word of caution to others. It's what it means to be human, sadly.

ParticipantYeah, I feel bad for all you Iron Man fans out there. As of right now, Marvel is REALLY trying to put the bad guy hat on Iron Man and that just stinks. I mean, if this happened to She-Hulk or Superman I'm sure I'd feel the same way.
He needs to have a comeback arc where he admits that his past actions were awful and becomes the real Iron Man again. Because let's face it; since Civil War started, everyone's called him Stark and not Iron Man, as if his actions have degraded the mantle he wears.
And yes, I do hope Hulk really messed up him at the end of WWH #1. Maybe Hulk finally knocked some sense into him.
