ParticipantI don’t know that I’d describer her as “ripped” but she definitely doesn’t appear emaciated. I’d describe her as “athletic.” I’d also describe her as “pretty fucking amazing.” She looks great!

ParticipantI didn’t think it was balanced or fair at all. I do think Collette Nelson came across as a bright and very genuine person, and the interview segments with her were the highlight of the piece, IMO. But Bryant Gumbel comes across as unable to completely mask his disgust and condescension. They also did the same aggravating thing as the guys who made the film Bigger, Stronger, Faster when they interview Lauren Powers and she is talking about the steps she takes to maintain a feminine appearance. She has a strong and angular face, and they make sure to interview her when she’s at her most ripped, which further hardens the facial angles and details. The intention is to mock her, as if to wink at the viewer and say “haha, she doesn’t realize that she doesn’t look feminine at all!” I think it’s pretty slimy and insensitive.
I was glad that they showed the effort required and how poorly the women are being treated by the IFBB. But the impression I get is that they’re trying to make the point that these women must be sick. They talk about muscle dysmorphia and the implication is that it’s what is wrong with them. After all, they take steroids (harmful effects), they work out a lot (can’t have a woman being strong!), and the reward money from shows is an insult (so they must be doing it for another reason!). The part about how they make money is designed to insinuate that they’re little more than whores (and Gumbel actually asks that question of Powers, and did you see how they edit her response? Please!).
I think that the idea was to make it clear that Gumbel and his team find this to be very strange (and not in a good way). The message is that these are sick women who should be pitied. I would rather that HBO had not bothered at all.

Do we all like the way the most recent posts are the default view? I’ve been fooling with it for a few days and I like it, but I am not the only user.
I like it, it’s how I typically browsed the forums anyway.

ParticipantWhat kind of maturity are we referring to? đź

ParticipantI over loaded the old one.
That's what we mean when we say "Ashlee, you are just too much!" ;D
Thanks for your tireless efforts at tracking down these sites and videos. Between you and Ed Lee I think we've got the whole web covered. đ

ParticipantI have no idea about a good reason. I don't know. Maybe there is something with her face.
Maybe it's just me. There are celebrities for example, that the whole world considers hot, but not me. Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston…
I believe that it is generally subjective. Therefore, "it's just me" is a good reason, as far as I'm concerned.

ParticipantI use an external RAID-1 device with two 500GB SATA drives. I use it as my data drive, so that the only backups I bother to do are for my email archives. I used to only have a single external HDD, but as my data archive grew I decided to add a bit of redundancy.
I also periodically back up my data files onto a blu-ray disc. Online storage is becoming more common, but I like the idea of having my data nearby and within reach.

ParticipantThink of it as a way to post alerts of new work to your fans who might hang out here more often than on dA.
That's how I see it. Traffic to my dA page spikes pretty quickly after I make a post here.
