I think that the situation here is due in a very large part to the way that steroids entered the consciousness of the general public.  In 1984 or 1988, Canada's Ben Johnson flew past the USA's Carl Lewis and into the Olympic record books in the 100 Meter Dash.  A day or so later, he was disqualified when he was found to have tested positive for steroids.  Johnson and Lewis were high-profile competitors and Lewis was a media darling in the USA, and thus it was easy to tar Johnson as a cheater and demonize steroids.  Lewis was cast as the squeaky-clean all-American athlete who'd been robbed of his chance to celebrate in front of the world.

A few years later most steroids were classified on the level of drugs like heroin and cocaine, thus making possession and use a crime.  This in spite of protestations from numerous groups, including the FDA, since there had not been sufficient testing to determine the dangers of steroid use.  This has led to a steady crusade against PEDs of pretty much any stripe (aside from perhaps NO2 and Creatine, which have somehow escaped public anger).  The lack of knowledge, understanding or education on both the benefits and risks of PED use here is staggering, and keeps there from being a beneficial dialogue on the issue.  We're very much at the "witch hunt" stage, and will be for some time.

PS- depending on local laws, it's possible (indeed, I would bet that it's likely) that a firefighter who is convicted of a crime would lose his or her job.  It's possible that the union contract would stipulate that even an arrest for drug use, possession, or sale could lead to the loss of her job.  Many such departments are extremely wary of their public reputation and will go to lengths to protect it.  For example, my brother-in-law drives a bus for the local MTA.  If he were to get a traffic ticket while off-duty, he is at a considerable risk of losing his job.  The perception of public safety is foremost in the minds of officials at many of these jobs.

Again, gentlemen, I say:  this is the Daily Mail we're talking about.  The day they say that the country isn't going to the dogs because of the immigrants/liberals/Health and Safety Executive/European Union (delete as appropriate) wil be the day that that the sun will rise in the West.

Ah, I see.  The UK's version of the New York Post. 🙂

While looking up the recent Miss USA pageant I stumbled upon the hooplah over January's Miss America pageant. A British newspaper had an article that complained about some of the contestants being too athletic.

I guess some men are still threatened by the idea of an athletic woman.  Better to have them looking thin and weak so that they remember their place, is it?  ::)

    Just thought you should know…

    Here's their website:

Sweet!  Thanks for the update.  I have not been playing much of anything lately, which is a good thing (more time for drawing, more time for exercising).  So I might just pick this up when it ships.  If anyone does decide to create a super group or guild (or whatever they'll call it) I'd be interested.  MMORPG type games are very little fun for me when they're played as a solo effort.

I’m still trying to get a WW costume tailored for me for this Halloweeen, but this hour glass bod wouldn’t do these Goddesses any justice I’m afraid.

Nothing wrong with being a unique goddess all your own!

I think that the classic WW costume can be easily designed (or re-designed) to flatter the classic hourglass figure.  Just use the blue color in the main portion in the center, make the lower part red, and keep the yellow/gold portion at the top, and you've got a garment that thins the waist and highlights the curves.  Or you can also get more creative with the symbol, like this.

On the other hand, the 'structural' design of the outfit makes it so that a woman with large enough breasts need not worry about the rest of the outfit, since the top will draw all of the attention.  Especially if it's not carefully secured.  😮

Erm… no idea what the point of all of this was.  Letting my pencil wander usually produces good results.  Letting my mind wander… not so much.  ???

Thanks Tonus, Love your work sweetie!

    Thanks Ashlee! 🙂

Daily Motion has a higher-res version.

I found a link to a downloadable AVI, but apparently the school the guy went to shut their website down some time ago and it's gone. 😮

Latin people seem to be more open minded when it comes to muscular women – at least for women who have big legs.

I'm not sure it's the legs per se, though we certainly can appreciate a fine pair of legs.  Especially when attached to an equally fine booty. 🙂

Some might say that her legs are a bit out of proportions and she doesn't have upper body to match those mighty pillars like tree trunks, but in my books she still looks lovely.

Her legs definitely stand out due to their size, but I agree that she looks awesome.  Then again, like most people who visit a site like this one, I find a larger and more developed physique much more attractive than a thin one.  In her case, I think it's due in large part to the fact that the legs are well-developed in their musculature.  She doesn't just have 'big legs' or 'fat legs,' and she doesn't have to use an excuse like "well, I have big bones."  Her legs show a great shape and definition that makes it clear that their size is a result of hard work in the weight room.

I have to say though, her arms and shoulders may not be as muscular as her legs, but they've got a nice shape to them.  She seems like the sort of lady that doesn't have to be dragged to the gym.

And just because they really are that impressive, I'll say again… damn, she's got some gorgeous legs!

Edit: more pictures at this blog site.

Another Ker'cera sketch, as I start to flesh out the character.

I figure I'll try some comic pages as submissions for the Maidens 09, along with the necessary poses for her category.  Might be a good way to get back into the swing of 'normal' comics work and design.

The search term that Ashlee suggested turns up these two videos:

That is an… interesting twist on the tale.  lol.
