Deviant Art removed that??! Are they not aware that they have the word Deviant in their name?

Could they have removed it for copyright purposes?  There is a lot of work on DA that is more risque than the OP's morph.

He has a very interesting mix of styles.  The most promising thing about an artist who changes his style so frequently is that he is usually trying to find his own unique style.  And when he does, he's going to produce some amazing work, is my guess.  Already his work is very good, even though it seems he's still trying to find a style that he's comfortable with.

Oh man, I didn't realize how long it had been since I'd posted any artwork.  🙁

Anyway, rather than bump two old threads, I'll post my scribbles here.

This is another old piece that probably hasn't been seen since the days of the old Wreck Shop boards, it's a muscular Tifa Lockhart.  Actually, this version has never been seen.  The version I had posted had been stretched vertically because I felt she was a bit too squarish in the original.  And looking at it now, I have no idea why I felt that way.  *shrug*  Well, this is the original, in all its squarish glory:

Work has been very busy of late and getting busier yet, to where I'm getting home late even when I bring work home.  So I don't know how often I'll be able to update, but I hope it's more often than every four months. /sigh

    He must be stopped.

From sleeping!  And eating!  And anything else that might slow his pace!

I also do like a well-defined appearance.  What I dslike is the pinched cheek, dry contest shape when veins pop out and the skin looks dry and leathery.  I can understand others liking the muscles to pop and bulge, but actually finding the pinched cheeks etc. sexy?  Sorry, don't get it. ???

I also do not like the tight and drawn look on the faces of a contest-ready bodybuilder (male or female).  And on women with breast implants, often the implants look very awkward (like stapled-on grapefruit).  For me, the only time the vascularity takes away from it is when there are a lot of veins because it can actually detract from the aesthetic look of the muscles.

    Hi Chris.
While I love the off season look as well we shoot mostly in season because it's what a lot of people want and when we can usually get most of the women. Also there are quite a few women who prefer to be shot in contest shape because they've worked so hard for it.

While I prefer the off-season look by far, I can understand why people want to see the in-season look (and why the competitors would want to be photographed at that time).  While I find the general shapes and lack of hard edges much more attractive, the fact is that a streamlined and clearly-delineated musculature is just downright impressive to behold.  And if you've gone through all the work and suffering to look that way, then you want the world to see it.  A well-defined back is really amazing to see.

Pencil and marker on sketch paper, my goodness.

I'd complain that it's just unfair, but it's pretty obvious that he puts a ton of effort and time into his work, and it shows.  Just amazing.

Those Daikon pieces are just gorgeous.

I agree.  He has such an "economy of line" in his work.  If you look closely at the drawings (as if it's possible to resist that temptation!) you can see that he uses a single-width line throughout and adds depth with shading.  But the linework stands on its own.  I cannot recall many artists that can produce such good work with such simple lines.  I'm a big fan of his art.

CGMan that demo looks great, and that's a clever way to handle skin deformation.  From some of the "making of" videos I've seen, some animation studios take that same route.  I know that in the video showing how they made "Shrek" the 3D animators had built an underlying muscle structure for most of Shrek's body.

Reason, I know that many 3D packages have some method of skin deformation (trueSpace does, I'm pretty sure Hash Animation Master does).  The trick is figuring out how a particular one works and then going through the effort required to get it to look the way you want, which can take a while.

And there is hope!  When I had purchased Lightwave (v5.x I think) many years ago, the package cost something like $2100 and I got a "great deal" at $1600.  These days the full package sells for $900, less from some resellers.  That's still a heck of a lot of money, but the trend has been downwards (I remember when packages like Houdini cost $17,000 and up.  Ewwwww).
