ParticipantI don't know how old it is, but yes, it was one of a series of prints he did that were designed so that they could make models from them. The models were called (don't cringe) 'Comiquettes' (I told you not to cringe!). He did others of the White Queen, the Black Queen, Rogue, Black Cat, and Mary Jane (a bittersweet piece because people hassled him about the image of a wife doing the laundry… I kid you not).

ParticipantAnnie R. has 0 implants and she still looks like a beautiful female!
Alina Popa also looks feminine and attractive despite not having implants. I think that implants usually look bad on a female body builder who is in contest shape, because they look so odd and unnatural. In off-season shape they can look very nice. But I agree that female body builders do not need them to look feminine.
And let's face it, Caroline Wang would still look unusual with breast implants, due to the appearance of her face. It's just the luck of the draw, IMO.

ParticipantWe might have to fight over that, Mimi… ;D 😉 🙂
You are a very clever man. 8)

ParticipantThe interesting thing about Caroline Wang is that she has female genitalia , which by most medical standards would qualify her as female. However by current "popular taste" she appears too masculine to qualify her as female.
So now who's actually qualified to be a judge in the sport of bodybuilding;
.. a gym owner, a business sponsor, a fellow sport's person or a medical doctor?I just want to repeat that I don't think that this is a case of whether they're being unfairly judged as women body builders. I do feel that they should be judged on their physiques (size, shape, definition, presentation, etc). And I do not think that they should be used as some sort of referendum on whether or not female body building is good/bad or right/wrong or anything like that. If they're women who want to pursue body building, their facial looks shouldn't impede them from pursuing that.
But I think that what is skewing the discussion is that their faces look distinctly male. Note, not masculine. Male. This isn't about the low fat percentages making their faces look harder and more angular and thus not as feminine as we may expect from a woman (fairly or otherwise). Even in off-season shape, even if they weren't muscular, I bet that they would be easy to confuse as men from the neck up.
Hey, it happens, there are certainly some androgynous men out there, who could pass for a female face even without long hair or make up. I wouldn't use them as an example of gender bias, though, because their appearance is something that isn't common and isn't their fault. I'm sure that bigots will make snap judgments about such people, but it's better to step back and take everything into consideration. Those women look like men, to me. That isn't right or wrong by itself.

ParticipantThis is sport is full of DOUBLE STANDARDS , when judging Female Bodybuilders.
Does anyone ever critique genetically male bodybuilders as being attractive or not. . Personally, I think not.
Most male bodybuilders are judged by their muscularity , not their attractiveness .It's not about attractiveness, as much as it is that the face of that bodybuilder looks distinctly male. If you showed anyone just the head and face, I cannot imagine a single person that wouldn't say "that's a guy."
There is no doubt that when judging female bodybuilders, we place a greater emphasis on their facial beauty than we would a man. But the woman in those photos is not unattractive… for a man.

ParticipantHolly cow! That's is one truly bad movie clip. 😮 It literally defines the "B Movie" genera. 😛
The Toxic Avenger series was made by Troma Entertainment, a production company that made low-budget films. They seemed to want to make cheap and cheesy movies. Their movies just scream "low budget" and they reveled in it. I figure that if they'd been given bigger budgets to work with, they'd have produced exactly the same movies.

ParticipantI admit to some mild annoyance at the "freak accident" claim. It may or may not be a common accident, but it's not a freak accident. If you are lifting something heavy there will always be the risk that you may drop it, especially if you are careless or do not take all of the recommended precautions. Even so, there is risk. A college football player was recently hospitalized after a barbell crushed his throat. I don't know what kind of grip he was using, but he had a spotter, yet the weight slipped from his hands and only the well-developed muscles in his neck saved his life.
The article didn't give many details, most of it seems to be from the comments section. Is there another news report that explains what grip he was using and if he had a spotter on hand?
