ParticipantI see. What comes to the first topic, there is nothing to do than wait and see. This has been really hot potato in South Africa. There the sporting union has even think about making a complaint to UN because they claim that the tests have racial grounds. It sounds ridicilous reasonings here, but I guess you need to remember that things are a bit different in South Africa: racism is much more present.

ParticipantI also love the low camera-angle they use for throwing events as it makes them all look like giantesses, although most of them are pretty darn tall anyway.
In television picture athletes often look kind of small because there is nothing where to compare, or everyone around those are big too. On the other hand, if they have very low fat prosentage, they might look massive even though they are not.
Like here Nadine Müller for example:
, quit competing. Nadine is the current German number uno discus thrower. I didn't see those crazy doping years, and judging from old pictures and videos, didn't miss much. Maybe some big throws but at what cost. Had to check what the vittu were you talking about. Cricket is not a big sport around here.

ParticipantDani Samuels 182 cm (6') 82 kg (180 lbs)
A very promising young discus thrower from Australia. Junior and youth world champion with a record throw of 62.95 metres. (206' 6.5") Still lacks some strength, but that is not any wonder – she's just 20 years old – but her technique is really good. I just love her leg sweep at the the first spin. Said in an interview, that her model in throws is Mac Wilkins. Not a bad choise. A force to be reckoned with in the future.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwIw52oTsxE

Her good performance wasn't a suprice – she's been very consistant throughout the year – but a two and a half meter improvement to her record in finals is something amazing. Youngest discus medalist of all-time and now fifth woman to sweep out all age-group championships.

She looks a bit buffer now than before 8)

ParticipantShe is actually South African.
The Jamaican women have really looked good and healthy. I've no idea how they train back there, but they seem to have found some kind of fountain of dreams.
I don't think that her time jump during last year is so unusual. As you said, she is very young and at that age many athletes better their results quite a much.
But I'm struggling to understand how media has reacted to this topic. The spectators buuing after her win is something almost unforgivable. Even before anything is published, they have put a big shadow over her performances.
How would a normal teenager response after their appearance is widely critized?

ParticipantQuite a looker. She's skinny but she still has figures. I'm likin'

ParticipantForgot to mention that she wouldn't be the first of a kind in ahtletics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanis%C5%82awa_Walasiewicz

ParticipantWasn't me that sent you the interview, was it?
Nope, it was colt13. Sorry for the misleading expression.

ParticipantMost female javelin throwers (except the ugly ones) are hot.
Yes they are. Too bad that we have five international level male throwers but none woman and there were no foreign female throwers that wanted to come here to perform in competitions. But at least there were Kimberley Mickle and some throwers from South Korea in Keihäskarnevaalit.
Lets just see how Jelena Jaakkola and Oona Sormunen will perform in the future.
Thanks for the interview link.

Yes I guess she wins if she just avoids making big mistakes. though tuff competition for other medal positions. Nice to see Dobrynska.
Yes, women are not getting as much attention in athletics as men do. I don't think it's due to the fact that many records seem to be out of reach at the moment. The thing is same all around the sporting world apart from tennis.
I think the best attribute for media attention is how much money athletes get. I don't have the statistics, but I'm pretty sure there won't be lot of females in the top 100 moneymakers.
Which country won the previos women soccer championship? Who is the number 1 golf-female etc.
My guess is that it's just boring to see one doing 100 metres in 10.70 after some other has just ran it a second faster. The women train as hard as men but it's just not the same in the eyes of everyday normal guy.
