ParticipantHey Scott, you made one of me…!
http://grissse.deviantart.com/art/Me-and-Katrina-104681135Except that I'm a brunette and don't wear glasses… 😉
I think I may have to dress up as Catwoman next Halloween!! This looks like fun. ;DOh to have Staci's strength, or Fuerza's size, or a little man trapped like that…! ::)

ParticipantHe He!! I've had this problem… Not as extreme as hers, but still similar! ::)

ParticipantHey!!! I'm a gypsy… Or at least my anscestors were. ;D
So, if any of y'all need any of that vitality potion, come find me in my wanderings. If you can! 😉November 18, 2008 at 5:07 am in reply to: How to tell your Girlfriend/Fiancee/Wife about all this. #68106Trina
ParticipantI keep wanting to reply to this thread but a combination of what Mimi said at the very begining and Myopic Wonder's decription of his experience pretty much says it all for me!
My trouble is finding a guy who's comfortable with, first of all me being fairly tall, me wearing heels, and with me being quite strong and very athletic. Most men can't handle that in a woman. (Not a problem on this website!)
I've found a few in my life, but of those men, not one of them so far has been accepting of me wanting to grow taller and more muscular. *sigh* If only I had been born with those genes!
Now, before all of you proposition me, let me be clear that I'm ONLY looking for men in my day to day life and NOT here!! I'm just adding my two cents…

ParticipantI think (certainly it's the explanation in my case) that we're raging here because of what you said – the pressure on girls is bad enough, then the likes of this woman come along, and, either through their own ignorance or (more likely, IMO) opportunistic tactics, take advantage of the reticence of most of these girls by reassuring them that, if they never work-out with anything heavier than 3 pound dumbells they won't end-up looking like "teh Ahhhnold" circa 1980. In fact, if you look at the article linked-to by the personal trainer who is ranting about this, mostly the resistance isn't even as much as three pounds, but only gravity and air resistance. ::)
I'd love to see photos of someone like Pauline Nordin offseason on billboards with a note underneath saying something like "I workout with heavy weights" or "Lifting heavy made me look this hot" as I think most girls think they'll look unfeminine and ugly if they pump iron. The only thing that will do that is excessive steroid use (please note my use of the word "excessive").
Here's a book that would totally address all of the concerns and benefits you just mentioned…! 🙂

ParticipantCalm down boys…! 😉
While I totally dissagree with this article, I can also see where they're coming from. Most women throughout the world are totally content to be small weak and demure. Now if they feel pressured into working out, this is most likely the approach they'll take.
It's a very good thing that any woman serious about working out has access to facilities and training programs that will help her reach her goals. Anything is possible! I just wish that people like Tracey didn't get so much media attention and coverage…
XOXO

ParticipantToo bad I don't have the genetics or body type to be able to do this… >:(
Oh well, I do the best I can with what I have.
