I’ve never quite figured out if the way Japanese women act in these sort of things is because they’re genuinely uncomfortable, or if it’s some cultural/fetish thing to act that way.

I am Asian but not Japanese. My guess is its some kind of cultural fetish, she is trying to lure some geeky fan boys who likes that kind of things. But then again she could really be genuinely that way.
