Have you ever paid attention to all the websites belonging to marketing agency website? All of them promise “disruptive results,” have a simple grid of ambiguous (i.e. non-specific) case studies, and seem to use identical tech-bro buzzwords. If they’re all unable to market themselves successfully, how will they be able to market your business successfully?
When you are hiring a contractor, their digital presence should serve as a proof of concept. A high-quality website will avoid using fluffy adjective-based terminology and will instead show a heavy focus on outcome-based analysis based on data. It will contain information that demonstrates a deep understanding of user psychology; including how to navigate through the website intuitively, providing clear value propositions, and ensuring that providing contact information is an easy process with the least amount of friction possible.
If a company’s online presence looks like a vacant desert or is similar to a generic website, that is a major warning sign that they do not treat their own website as their most important client; therefore, they will not treat your company in the same manner. A top agency constantly evaluates the effectiveness of their digital presence, A/B testing headlines, consistently updating listings of completed projects and consistently providing real value to their audience through providing valuable insight. Ultimately, the goal of a great site isn’t just to look pretty—it’s to build immediate trust and make the decision to reach out feel like a no-brainer.
