Although based on the Atari 2600 Combat game, I can recall a B&W arcade version back in the early 80s.
Simple it might seem, but irritatingly addictive to play.

Drove it w/ double joy sticks while looking through a view-port scope, just like a real tank.
Had a wireframe/CAD format.

Oh yes, I forgot about that part. B)
Another game from the early 90s – LHX by Electronic Arts,
part helicopter flight simulator, part battlefield simulation. You could fly either the Apache, Blackhawk, Osprey
or the LHX = Light Helicopter Experimental.EA made some great simulation games
– i.e. 688 Attack Sub, SU-25, F-16, M1 Abrams etc.“I like a good story well told. That is the reason I am sometimes forced to tell them myself.”

I do not believe that anyone other than me remembers LHX…..stop using wikipedia for old video games :angry:I still have my EA sims….and NovaLogic ones too B)
Of course nothing beats Wing Commander III or IV for sheer awesomeness of that time.

How about Harpoon, the naval strategy game?
I had the DOS, and later still (and still have) the Win/Mac version on CD, complete with scenario editor.
Nothing beats the Nuke release order . . .
