I haven't read it but as I understand it, Ultimate Jennifer Walters has made her debut – as a Doctor on the Super Soldier project in Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk #1… She's remained human thus far but people are all excited that Jennifer might well become Ultimate She-Hulk at some point during this 6 issue mini.
The bad news though, is that this is a a bi-monthly. It probably won't be finished until this time next year…

December 22, 2005 at 6:29 pm #19674AlexGKeymasterI saw the lengthy thread over on the She-Hulk forum, but frankly I've not been at all interested in the "Ultimate Marvel" series – until now. Guess I'll have to make an exception for this mini-six parter, even if it does have Logan/Wolverine in it as a lead player of the storyline. 😎
Having Jennifer in it more then makes up for that in a nano-second . . . 😀

~ Mark Twain / Samuel Clemens (1907)December 22, 2005 at 8:19 pm #19675Prophet TenebraeParticipantI've mixed feelings about the Ultimate Universe… on the one hand I kind of like the grittier, more realistic approach to superheroing… but I also feel it's frequently TOO desperate to be one of the cool kids. Not just that but they already have to start repeating history with stuff like Ultimate Secret and introducing about a dozen alien races… and the greatest sin of all… Making Dr. Doom really, really lame.
But if we see a (good) Ultimate She-Hulk, I'll be more than a little happy…
And am I the only person that thinks Jennifer looks more than a little manic in that picture. Plus she's acting pretty nonchalant about her mass murdering cousin.
December 23, 2005 at 1:59 am #19676FettParticipantUltimate Jen Walters may not be Banner's cousin.
Also, there were two doses of the Hulk serum. If we're gonna fantasize, let's imagine she takes both, yeah? 😀
December 23, 2005 at 2:32 am #19677JonParticipantHere's my worst case scenario:
1) Marvel screws up Ultimate She-Hulk.
2) Amaz0ns writers come up with a better story and post it on this board.
3) Artists are inspired artists to draw a "preferred" version, and also post it on this board.Maybe they'll get it right… but I don't have the Hulk's lung power to hold my breath that long. 😆
December 23, 2005 at 3:24 am #19678Prophet TenebraeParticipantAs I recall – it's established in The Ultimates that Walters is Bruce's cousin. Some point in v2.

December 23, 2005 at 8:25 pm #19680LingsterKeymasterIs she taking her ID card out of her decolletage? Ha! I kinda like her. I wonder what might prompt her to take the hulk serum? Also, until it happens and she turns out hot, we shouldn't count our chickens. They've introduced several Marvel characters as pathetic parodies of themselves. Son of Satan, Nighthawk, Power Man and Valkyrie are all comic relief. Sinister is delusional. She-Hulk might turn out to be just another hideous, mindless pile of muscle. Alternatively, she may have perfected the formula and simply become a model of human perfection, like Captain America. (Ultimate Cap has super powers, btw – he's very strong, he is extremely resistant to injury and he is extremely agile. He's been seen leaping across chunks of Manhattan, like Peter Parker can do without webs.)

I'd argue the point of Sinister being delusional. In fact, at the end of his original appearance, Apocalypse appears at the very end of the issue, flesh and blood, instead of that makeshift statue. Sinister is told by "Lord Apocalypse" to "choke himself". From what is being passed around, Apoc /will/ be making an appearance (the writers have mentioned this a few times).
However, you're entirely right otherwise. I worry about what an Ultimate She-Hulk would look like. And really, considering how a lot of Ultimate has gone, she'll likely be handled very, very poorly. We'll probably end up with just a female monstrosity that bites the heads off people, much like Ultimate Hulk did.

They won't. Don't worry. Besides, Ult.Hulk got that way because he screwed with the super soldier serum. Who's to say Jen didn't further perfect it and is gonna not only use it and become STRONGER than the hulk, but also keep her intelligence and rather "wild" streak?
