They won't. Don't worry. Besides, Ult.Hulk got that way because he screwed with the super soldier serum. Who's to say Jen didn't further perfect it and is gonna not only use it and become STRONGER than the hulk, but also keep her intelligence and rather "wild" streak? We can only hope!

ParticipantI hope something happens that adds a little mass to that frame of hers… as she is now, her collarbones enter the room thirty seconds before she does!
BTW, Lingster… great avatar!!!

ParticipantI think that Jennifer's disposition isn't just wild… it seems kind of like she's a bit reckless and slightly unhinged. I know it's unlikely but perhaps her being more open is a side-effect of her experimenting on herself with the hulk serum? Probably not but it's just a thought that occured to me.
It's important to remember that Banner was/is emotionally disturbed and he ended up using the Hulk serum combined with captain America's blood because he basically felt like a failure both with Betty and with trying to replicate the success of the original Super-Soldier formula.
There is no evidence that Jennifer is like that or that she'd take that kind of risk. Unless she is secretly manic or a risk taker or something. As has been supposed elsewhere – it seems more likely that it would be via an accident or some kind of event that forced her to take it (duress, an emergency, the possible theft of the serum etc.) Of course, 5 issues to go – and as they say – anything could happen in the next half hour.
But I have to agree with you Lingster – they have messed up several characters… I was foaming at the mouth when they made Mr. Sinister little more than a simpering moron fawning after Apocalypse. It's far from a given that Ultimate Jennifer Walters will become an Ultimate She-Hulk that the fans will like… there are so many ways it could go horribly wrong.
The danger is of course hope.

ParticipantThink of all the characters they screwed up.
Now list all the ones that people LIKE 😛

Who knows? Maybe this'll be Maestro-Hulk. He'll be intelligent, but Logan won't relent. So Jen gulps down all the untested serum she can find, leaps over to Tibet, and lays a royal beating on Wolverine.December 27, 2005 at 11:11 pm #19687crutch
Participanthope they dont mess it up. plus avatar is cool dude . hope do more like that

ParticipantYeah, Hulk wasn't looking too angry or anything.
But really, I don't see how Fury could think Wolverine is a match for Hulk – if he has a healing factor comparable to his regular MU counterpart. I mean, in the MU Wolverine "killed" him but Hulk just regenerated. Look what happened here – Wolverine ripped in two.
As to Jennifer… I don't think she'll be downing the Hulk serum to run off and save Bruce, I think he's big enough and ugly enough to look after himself. Jen might just secretly want to be a superheroine, I guess.

ParticipantWell, granted that Wolverine could actually penetrate Ultimate Hulk's skin/skeleton, he could always just go for the 'ol lobotomy shot (that is how the Wasp took him out in Hulk does Manhattan IIRC). But yeah, it really has nothing to do with how effective Wolvie would be against Hulk, but how effective a Wolvie vs Hulk story would be against the readers' collective wallets.
I am actually kinda hoping that Jennifer DOESN"T turn into Shulkie (BLASPHEMY I know!), because the more I think about the UMU, the more I want it to be totally different from the regular MU. Even though some of the creations that have came out of the UMU have been as lame as Hell (not a huge fan of ultimate Dr. Doom's new look, but they might make him into an alright character), it is different and kinda refreshing; which is why I even bother to read UMU books. I think they should do this every 10 years or so. Just wipe the slate clean and let new writers and whatnot just go to town reinventing stuff. As long as they never put out another Megamorphs book EVER EVER EVER AGAIN.

ParticipantPersonally, I already feel the Ultimate Universe is – in someways – too closely paralleling the regular MU. Not just that but they've already done plenty of things poorly. Ultimate Fantastic Four is just horrible… started out ok but they ruined Doom. DOOM! There are plenty of ways they could have redone him that made him cool and not a carbon copy of his marvel character
Ultimate X-men has been pretty up and down and the fact that all the stories are all wrapped up in 6-8 issues leaves little room for excitement. Ultimate Spiderman has been diabolical from what I could bring myself to read of it and the run up to "Gah Lak Tus" has been almost painful.
In many ways, the Ultimate Universe isn't really any attempt at producing new material. Just a way of reaching new readers by not have decades of backstory to be intimidate by, while also reeling in existing fans with slightly new takes on old favourites and of course, the benefits of basically not having to come up with any new characters or stories – merely taking old ones and making them grittier and sticking in a few hundred references to i-pods.
Ah, rant-tastic. Anyway – quiet your blasphemous mouth 😉 We want Ultimate She-Hulk (so long as she is done well) 😀

Agreed. I've found Ultimate Spider-Man to be the most enjoyable of the Ultimate titles. Ultimate X-Men has its ups and downs (the Hellfire Club and Phoenix nonsense was so ridiculous) and the current rumors abounding about Ultimate Apocalypse's Horsemen leave me groaning.
I'd like to see Ultimate She-Hulk… but I worry. Something different would be nice, but… I'm just not sure they'd do her well. Something tells me she'd end up just a copy of herself from regular canon.

ParticipantGiven that so many of the characters in the Ultimate universe are generally just younger, more anorexic versions of themselves for SH to be the same wouldn't be surprising… and given the way several characters have been mauled an Ultimate She-Hulk of that nature wouldn't be so bad. It would be interesting to see what she did in the Ultimate Universe… what with being a superhero and supergenius.
Sometimes I wonder how the creative process for these things goes:
"Let's make Dr. Doom a metal demon type character WITH POWERS! Oh and let's make sure he's pretty stupid too! Wait, why stop there – let's make him hang out with a bunch of hippies and be related to Dracula and, and, and…" etc. Rinse and repeat for Mr. Sinister.
Oops, ranting again.
