Dodging a bullet
In this case, the bullet in question was a 1990 Ford Taurus with the unwitting assassin asleep at the wheel. Fortunately I had the good sense to look at the oncoming headlights as I was unlocking my driver's side car door… realizing that at the speed and angle he was approaching that he wasn't going to miss the car, I jumped out of the way into the street and didn't even look back as I took off, only to have my car hit so hard that it rolled with brakes engaged for almost four car lengths before it stopped in the middle of the street. Didn't take long for me to figure out that my car saved my life… if he'd have swerved to the right to miss the car, he'd have hit me, and I would not have survived. I find it miraculous that neither of us needed an ambulance.
So there you have it….woah that was close…
Glad you are ok Chris.Cheetaur

Wow. I'm sure glad to hear that he survived a close call. As someone who has been held up at gunpoint I can understand how afterwards things get a little shakey. Hope you're ok Chris and I hope you can replace your car quickly.August 8, 2005 at 4:28 pm #10293AshleeParticipantWOW , Thats great he alright!!!!!!car can be replaced, He can't!!!
Reminds of the time at ajob sight, I'm working in the forman's trailer and a crane , hit the I-beams structure's of the 10 floor and sent many beams crashing to the ground cleaving the trailer in two.

As our dear Ashlee-chan said: the car can be replaced, He can't!
Again, our best to him. And, Ashlee-chan: looks like a lucky escape for you as well.
My's, how I's am still amused how people are ruled by there fears when this flesh feels nothing. Ironic it would seem.

The Pimp NeonBlackAugust 9, 2005 at 1:15 am #10296AnonymousGuestBlimey! I'm so glad you survived, Chris! I can't imagine what it must have been like for you, but I'm really happy you escaped in one piece.
August 9, 2005 at 5:50 am #10297oldFredParticipantA car can be replaced.
A life and a tremendous talent can not.
Hang in there Chris.August 9, 2005 at 5:58 am #10298David C. MatthewsParticipantI'm glad you're still with us, Chris! What a close call…
August 9, 2005 at 6:23 am #1029910-4ParticipantI heard about that. Sounds similar to what happened to me several years ago. I had to dive over a neighbors hedge to avoid being hit by a car that started a right hand turn and never stopped turning until the lady plowed into the front yard of a neighbor just down the street. Had my attention been anywhere else for that split second I’d have never see her coming and wouldn’t be typing this right now.

Seems you bummed one of Kitty-kins lives. 😉
