There is a common misconception that layered hair only works for thick hair, but when executed correctly, it is actually one of the absolute best ways to bring life, movement, and the illusion of thickness to fine, thin hair textures. The trick is not to have a dramatic, heavy layering process that strips away the importance of your base layering, causing the ends of your hair to be thin and wispy. Instead, request long interior layering from your stylist. This technique removes weight only from specific internal areas, allowing the remaining hair to bounce up and create the optical illusion of maximum volume. While working on the layers at home, make sure you use a light volumizing root booster on wet hair. Then take a big ceramic round brush and hold your hair at a right angle from your head using a blow dryer for more bounce and volume.
