I am having a time trying to create female muscle and FMG on Poser. Any tips or tutourials anyone reccommend.
September 22, 2006 at 11:56 pm #37474JackParticipantI've just started Poser 6 too and I agree, it's tough getting things to work. I can't offer much help here, but I found that She Freak 2 for Daz's Victoria 3 was very good for femuscle (although made it difficult to fit Victoria's clothes to her).

Fortunately there are a few excellent Poser artists who might have advice in this area. Look them up here or at Deviantart.com

Jack,
Thanks for the plug! I agree that the others mentioned are fabulous, and I am humbled by your inclusion of me with them…
Behave005,
Fitting clothes SUCKS! 🙂 I use DAZ|Studio, so I cannot directly speak to Poser, but I think the problems are the same.
DAZ Changed their workflow around the 1.3 timeframe, I think… They used to only have "Full-Body" morphs, which obviously changed the whole body. Now, in addition to full-body morphs, you can also select a single body part or subpart, and apply morphs to it as well. Great for flexibility, pain in the butt for clothes-fitting. I end up having to drill down to each individual part of a clothing model, and individually changing morphs to get clothes to fit. And even then, I need postwork sometimes to fix bad fits. UGH!
So many times I have bought clothing that supposedly works with the "muscular" body morphs, but it doesn't … another UGH!
Basically, I learned by trial and error … LOTS of errors… I can post a "process-walk" if you'd like, but it might take me some time to get to it…

As a general rule, 90% of Poser stuff will also work with DAZ. Therefore, no separate purchase required … UNLESS it violates a license agreement …
There are, however, some things that are Poser only, and some that are DAZ only, so read the fine print carefully.
Not sure if that was your question or not …
If your question was: Do the models come with hair, clothes, makeup, skin textures, etc., the answer is NO! You need to buy hair, clothes, makeup textures, skin textures, alternate clothing textures, etc.
There is, however, a HUGE community of people who contribute free stuff for DAZ and Poser (thankfully!)
Hope that helped …

I've pretty much stuck with purchased dynamic clothing, other clothing (conforming or morphable) made into dynamic cloth, and/or created dynamic clothing. There are several tutorials available at Renderosity on how to use dynamic clothing and it doesn't require me to do anything really other than set the parameters up I think will allow it to function correctly. The computer does the rest. However, this option is only available in Poser or other higher end products. DAZ Studio doesn't yet support it to my knowledge.
The real beast is trying to make your own skins for muscular women. You won't find any out there for sale so you're pretty much stuck making your own.
As for cost, really it's not that much in terms of "skins" and stuff Ritz (in comparison to other 3d programs). The main cost I found was in the software and the original character you want to use. I do more than just muscular women though so I have bought quite a bit of other stock items for use in other projects.
