I've spoken with plenty of the women on the board, and I've heard their horror stories. So yes, I do know what they go through and I'm not one to treat any of them as pieces of meat.
Those clips weren't examples of what -I- wanted, they were examples of what is good quality video. I personally could care less for green skin, yet the she-hulk clips were the only good ones to show. That way she doesn't have to start from scratch, rather she has a place or an idea to start from and go from there. I don't -need- or -want- anything because I just may well do it my damn well self, since I do know how to f**** draw and animate why the f*** would I ask or demand anything? All I'm pointing out is the most popular videos that most fans of the community would watch over and over again. People WILL be satisfied as long as it's done right! It has been done right a couple of times and those that were done correctly are saved on my HD, those that were not are easily forgotten about. It's like comparing the MadTV "Dot turns into Hulk" scene and "Paul Smith's Creation FMG" video. Needless to say the MadTV one obviously sucked, while Paul's was stupendous.
People are under the assumption that it's so freaking easy to do these kinds of videos and it isn't until they start shooting that they realize how f'ing hard it is. All I was doing was trying to make sure she didn't end up running into the most common obstacles, because once they hit they practically destroy the entire concept of a video. Crappy video = no money. No one is going to pay for MadTV Dot into Hulk, but they would probably pay for Paul Smith's creation video. It does aggravate me a bit that people think shooting and editing is so easy that anyone can do it, it's a bit insulting to my profession and it's hard for me to keep my mouth shut on that topic because it is a passion of mine and it's almost like smacking me in the face.
And what you're talking about is a collaboration, yes I've done those before too and they worked out marvellously. I'm not asking for anything though, all I did was point to some clips that were good examples of what's worth money to the FM community so that Taylor can make her money and everyone goes home happy. If I was going to ask of something it would have been through PM's and in private, not something I'd post on here; and don't lump me in with the a**holes that like to PM and harass the female members of the community because of those I do talk to, they know that would be a completely wrong assumption. I'm actually even quite offended that I'd be lumped in that category, considering all the help I've given to the female members of the community.
So instead of ganging up on my ass for expressing my opinion and pointing in a direction, just go do whatever it is you all are going to do and be done with it before the thread ends up getting locked due to a damn misunderstanding.
And for the last time, I don't want or demand anything. I'm sharing my damn knowledge of the demographic and what a majority of them like so it's easier for Taylor to have a foundation to build from when she makes her video doing god knows what. It doesn't matter if it was asked to or not, when you come to the FM community and tell em you're going to sell them a video of their favorite genre, someone is going to say something; better it be me than someone else who is more obnoxious, because there are many more "unknown" members here that would be far worse than the small things I've said.
So please, enough, because all this frustration is getting directed to the wrong person and I don't appreciate it.
Taylor good luck with your project.
You know what?
Go back and reread this entire thread.
And when you're done…take a long hard look at what you've said and done.
When you're done with that, we'll talk. Mmmk?
October 3, 2007 at 11:12 am #59694TC2ParticipantThere were some FMG shots in there actually, a noticeably muscular forearm coming out of the sleeves of a shirt, a bicep coming out of the sleeve, a slightly sweaty back stretching out the clothes from behind.
Though there were some clips of you in it, that was mainly for the chest and the foot, not the total package. At the end it shows that the character has become muscular and you can see noticeable muscular definition on her arms. Which is the key difference in say a regular clothes ripping video. It was spliced together in a way that showed that the character did become muscular in the end.
If there's no muscles in the end, then there's no FMG, and there are no special effects programs that can make someone look muscular. Your shots worked well for the in-between part because as you are a nicely proportioned lady it gives off a good effect for the middle part of the change. It's only the last part that would be difficult, because though you have lovely proportions people will know the difference between bodybuilder and shapely girl, and that will make it hard to sell the video.
I mention these issues now since I do have the technical know how on achieving these things, so you can address these issues before the video is released. Otherwise it's not going to sell very well and then we won't see a clip like that ever again. I know it takes a lot of time, I do work in the field of television and video editing after all, so I wanted to make sure the project was aware of how the demographic around here would react depending on how the video turns out.
You mean this part?
It's no worse than what a casting or marketing director would say. Sorry if that comes off as "offensive" but that really is nothing compared to what the "rude" members would say. I've had far worse comments on my animations when I was first starting out, what I wrote here is pretty damn tame compared to the offensive, infuriating comments I got when I was making FMG animations for the community when it took me so long to make just one clip. The above is strictly told from a business viewpoint, there's no hidden agenda or personal feelings in the mix. Could I have re-worded it? Sure, but it's a little too late to go back and edit and quite frankly reading this over, it's pretty damn tame compared to the sh** I got.
I've been around 11 years hanging around this type of community, starting at Diana's, going to Iczerman's (when he had a forum), going to Wreck-Shop's, and finally stopping here at Amaz0ns formerly known as shegrew, while also having my own yahoo group of 5,000+ members where I have received feedback from thousands of members on what they like to see in the FMG genre. Sorry if it comes off as arrogant but I earned my stripes and I worked hard for it, and considering that the comment I quoted was pretty gentle it's mind boggling why I'm getting so much flak over it.
It's not like I said "This is just absolute garbage" which is what a NORMAL comment would go for these days in a profession like that. I didn't even say anything that came near that, she asked what was so great about the clip and I pointed out the highlights that an other FMG fan would have pointed out. I've talked with a few folks who have tried to sell FMG comics and I've been told the horror stories of barely making back the cost to pay the artist! This community is hard to sell, and even the Awefilms project didn't sell THAT well. And then there's projects where people have paid at least 500 or more dollars and ended up getting something that was totally wrong! The Kim Chambers video comes to mind.
I'm not just making this crap up either. So I made my comment in the most gentle, business like manner. I personally didn't want to see her waste all her time doing this video only to make eleven sales. 132 bucks isn't exactly going to buy groceries for the week; so I said what the people like, period. The hell else am I supposed to do, pull up nielson (tv) ratings and arbitron (radio) ratings to explain how cheap the FMG community is? It's very discouraging! For someone who has never done FMG before, who wants the community to buy into their product. I mean come on!
I probably wouldn't have said anything if money wasn't involved. Then I would have kept my mouth shut, because then it becomes something completely different. So in retrospect this entire discussion would have been avoided if cash wasn't involved. Anyway, since money is involved I shared my homework so that Taylor doesn't get discouraged if the video doesn't sell well. Or it does sell well, but doesn't make as much money as she thought it would. Or if she's really luck it sells well and makes a ton of cash, and knowing this community being of the opposite gender does give a big advantage. But anyway, whatever; I said my piece and there's really nothing else left to explain. I apologize if it was written too "harshly" but considering the kind of comments I've gotten for my work, I don't believe what I said was as bad as everyone else is making it to be.
October 3, 2007 at 11:55 am #59695Deadly PixxxieParticipantOh, for the love of….
I'm going dissect this and then I'm leaving the board for a while….because guys like you, with their "I earned my stripes, so I have every right to be an asshole" attitude make me utterly sick to my fucking stomach.
First of all, no one gives a hot wet fuck about what you went through, so stop crying about it. Whatever piddly shit you went through is a drop in the bucket compared to what we girls put up with. Oh, you may have talked to people…but you haven't experienced it. You don't hear me talking about how many nasty drawing I get in my inbox on a daily basis…nor do you hear me talking about how many morons IM me
And you wanna take the gloves off, that's fine. I've spent more than enough years playing with the boys, so I can dish it like one of the boys.
I've been on your group. I'm actually a member, believe it or not. And you honestly have no right whatsoever to be cocky. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. When I hear about FMG/GTS stuff, your name isn't brought up. Not once. I've talked to a lot of people who run other groups and boards….not once have you ever been brought up. I found your group by accident, and to be honest, I wasn't really impressed….at first…but then I realized that little .gifs like that take a while and I didn't see anyone else doing it, so I thought "Oh. This is cool. Not really my style, but I'm not gonna complain or say how he should do it, because that's not my place".
Throwing around your bullshit film business jargon is laughable, by the way. And the fact that you're trying to force her hand and deluding yourself into thinking that you're being helpful is even more laughable. I'm going to completely ignore all the irrelevant statistics you're throwing out, because it's just a red herring to distract readers from the fact that you're shoving what you think is right down her throat. I'm a music major (graduated from Berklee in Boston, did grad work at UCLA and then post grad at Northwestern) and you don't see me telling Taylor about the music in any of her videos, do you? No, you don't. Why? Because this isn't going any further than someone's computer. She's not out to make a billion dollars and bring FMG into the mainstream, so stop acting like it's going to happen.
You're coming off as an arrogant prick who is undermining what Taylor is capable of…and that makes you no better than any of the guys in the creep category.
You want to actually help?
SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET HER DO WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO AND WHAT HER PAYING CLIENTS WANT HER TO DO. Unless you're paying for it, you need to back the fuck off and simply say 'thank you for the great clip'. And quit assuming that the majority of us don't know what goes in these communities.
I'll see you all in a month or so.
October 3, 2007 at 1:21 pm #59696thatdudeParticipantWow, I'm gone for like a couple of weeks and this thread just explodes maybe i should post more to keep the peace ;D. All TC did was just offer constructive criticism so i really don't see why everyone is getting so pissed off. I'm sure he appreciates the effort MTaylor is putting out there. Weather or not MTaylor wants to accept this criticism is completely up to her and no one else. Well if you do decide to go through with the project i wish you the best of luck and sorry that this simple request has gotten so blown out of proportion.
October 3, 2007 at 1:22 pm #59697thatdudeParticipantps. grammar is not one of my strong points :-
October 3, 2007 at 5:58 pm #59698AlexGKeymasterLet's not mis understand here . . .
Now to answer Taylor's question.
From what I googled on Kristine, she seems to be in the adult video business. Not a big fan of that area so I didn't click on any images, if she doesn't have an agent you might be better off finding someone from this huge list here:
By reading some of the profiles certain BB's could be asked if they would like to do it. For the FM community who is used to waiting, how fast you finish your video is not important, it's more important you find the right "body" to help you out and take your time with your production than to finish as fast as you can. You could do other videos if you wanted in the meantime, because this community is definitely used to waiting; waiting a little more for getting it 'just right' would not be a problem.
You already did by not checking your link before posting – it should be http://www.amg-lite.com
Clarity is a must in giving directions. š

If you have personality problems or professional differences with each other then take private – the public forum is no place to stir up a flame war.
I probably should lock this thread – but I'll let Lingster decide that, its his forum.

October 3, 2007 at 11:36 pm #59702smittyParticipantYou're a woman on a board at which women are in small supply.
I get it.But that doesn't give you the right to insult someone who's actually
produced material that's FMG-related. You don't like it. I get it.
Still doesn't give you the right to demean and degrade the guy.He was giving his opinion as to what will work and what won't. He
was making suggestions to this Mistress Taylor person. What's the
big deal with that? There aren't many of us who have actually put their money where
their mouths are when it comes to FMG material. I'm one of them.
I co-wrote "The Growth Experiment" for AweFilms, which, to me,
remains the only FMG project worth a damn. Of course, I'm biased.I also did my own FMG video project that I posted free of charge at
my Yahoo group. That was my first stab at a video project of any kind,
and I recognize its shortcomings. I shot a second project that's still
being edited, one that cost me a helluva lot of money. But you know
what, economics were not my primary concern when I went about
shooting it. I wanted to produce something that was better than
anything that had/has been done before. Is it? We'll see, I suppose.I think I have an idea of what people like and what they're looking
for when it comes to FMG.Now I'm asking myself why I should even post on this topic when
someone shoots down even the slightest criticism of someone
(Mistress Taylor) who is only contemplating a foray into FMG.Go ahead, do what you want. Hire whoever you want to be the
"after" model. Use whatever After Effects you want. I'll speak the
only way any consumer can speak — by buying or not buying your
product. But the vituperative attacks on someone like The Collector are
unacceptable.I'm not stupid. I know that women on this board are given a lot
of latitude, for a variety of reasons. And I'm sure I'll get a lot of
crap by saying I'm looking forward to the next month.smitty
