Rune Soldier is a 24-episode anime that relentlessly parodies fantasy tropes and archetypes, centered around a quartet made up a hapless idiot magician and a trio of pretty young woman. Notably, the series takes the unorthodox step of the warrior in the group be a muscular yet pretty woman named Genie, portrayed in the English dub by Christine Auten and in the Japanese version by Minami Takayama. The series was released in 2003 by ADV and the English version is considered to be one of their better early efforts.

As ADV has collapsed the series is currently in limbo and box sets are hard to find. The English version can be found streaming at certain "dub-only" sites that aren't legitimate, and the Japanese version is scattered around YouTube and other various places. I am unsure whether to try to directly link to these sites without a mod or admin's permission so until then I will not link to either the English or Japanese version.
