If you watch this trailer and don't want to get this game, there is something seriously wrong with you.

(oh yeah, zelda) That looks so freaking sweet its untrue. we have scythey dude (awesome), seigfreid(Not nightmare), create a character (Hmm… maybe some buff girl action to be had there) lots of awesome new modes (Giant statue killer! whoo!) and scythey dude (Did i already mention him?)
September 18, 2005 at 5:24 pm #13561Amazon LoverParticipantI must concur. When I first opened the file to watch the vid, I was wondering if they'd have Link or Spawn again, or perhaps some other crossover character for each platform. But I must say, they've really gotten creative, adding new elements to the fighting game genre. Being able to fight NPC's, like the giant Dancing Statue and Coin Collector, moving through a map and encountering baddies like in an RPG, having individual story modes for each character, and a create-a-character mode (Anyone thinkin' about a 3D Andrah/Tetsuko/Lu?)… this is indeed impressive. I gotta check this out sometime.
September 18, 2005 at 8:04 pm #13562flashHEART.EXEParticipantHonestly, did you have any doubt? Namco always pulls through for the SC franchise.
I was really impressed by how in-depth the character creation system was. It looks like you have a lot of room to make a unique character. However, I don't think "muscle girl" was a build in there.
It looked like they tweaked their Land Control (?) or whatever it was from the SCII arcarde version. I was digging the castle maps. I am also interested in the Tournament mode. I wonder if it is just going to be fighting random chars with preset skill levels like Tekken 5 had (1st dan all the way up to Tekken God. It got pretty insane) or will there be some online capabilities?
As much as I liked thrashing Astaroth around with Link, it is going to kick ass even without everybody's favorite Hylian.

Oh, this mode has been around for a while. A little game called Smash Bros. had it about 4 years ago.
September 19, 2005 at 5:34 am #13563BlackKusanagiParticipantI am totally satisfied by what I see. Old favorites, Rock, Li Long, and Hwang return. New color edit, Zasalamel, Tira, and so much more, the game is no joke. The stages, return with a few of the older ones, and man this is a game truly for people who rocked to this back on the PS1 with Soul Blade. And followed the series. Me being a pure fighting game addict, and hearing about this around the time of its first word being poured out, Im super hyped, and after seeing this? Im really gonna be happy when I get it. I already have the team battle team right now. Hehe, it all depends on how the competition is…

Well, there is something seriously wrong with me: I totally suck at games!! (Even board games.)
Besides, those of you who are fans of my work and want to see even more of it: do you really want me getting addicted to video/computer games and have even less time to work on my stuff?
I will concur that Soul Calibur III does look kinda cool… (but I'm afraid even if I did get a game console the only game I'd play on it is that Dead or Alive volleyball game…)
September 19, 2005 at 8:42 am #13565DavidParticipantDamn! That was cool. having played a friends Soul Calibur 2 this looks amazing. I may finally spring for one one of these days. Definitly when the characters look like they do in the animations when you play them. Or when that create a character let's me build an Aki scaled gal.

I know Smash Bros. had that coin mode (I own the game, and have gotten nearly every trophy… until the @#$* data got corrupted and I had to start from scratch)… I think that the coin collector's a character, though (An NPC like the statue); I don't think it's the same mode that Smash Bros. had, but I could be wrong.

Nope. Create-A-Character gives you a basic template for both I believe and only the males size is changeable.
And it's REALLY restrictive on what can be done. Meaning you'll probably just end up with Takis tits, Ivys costume, and Sophitias fighting style.
Also, Soul Calibur 2 was not only shitty, but I believe it sold best on the Cube. Meaning Namco hates money.

Based on the trailer, I definitely think it's a mode.
