Thanksgiving
By MorpheusSeventeen-year-old Jen hated Thanksgiving and all that it stood for. For Jen, Thanksgiving did not represent a time when she should be grateful for what she had, but a time when she was reminded of everything that she didn't have. Thanksgiving and nearly every other holiday like it was the time when her older siblings all returned home and made her life a living hell.
Jen was the youngest of five siblings, each of the others being incredibly gifted and talented. For her entire life, she had always been asked why couldn't she be more like this brother or that sister. Every time she did anything, someone would point out that it wasn't the way one of her siblings would do it, or that they could do it much better without even trying. For Jen's entire life, she had lived in the shadows of her brother's and sisters…had been constantly compared to them and found lacking.
The eldest of Jen's siblings was Beth, an attractive 33-year-old business executive. She was intelligent, competitive and very ambitious with a knack of always getting what she wanted. As far as Jen was concerned, she was also a cold bitch who stepped on anyone in her way.
Jake was the second oldest at 28 and was a natural athlete. He was 6 foot 4, ripped with muscle and had always been extremely gifted in any athletic endeavor. While growing up, he had been the star of the school wrestling, football and basketball teams, as well as of every other sport he'd attempted. Jake made his greatest success though as one of the worlds greatest martial arts competitors, being a master of several different styles.
Jen was especially jealous of her 22-year-old sister Eilene, who was a gorgeous and sexy model. She had been on the cover of several magazines, had been in two different movies and was the object of lust for many boys in Jen's school. But what annoyed Jen the most about Eilene was just how easy it was for her to wrap any and every boy around her fingers without even trying. It was especially frustrating since Jen herself was never able to even get a date, or at least not one who wasn't merely using her as a means to meet Eilene.
Then there was Chase, the closest one to her own age. He was quite attractive for a computer geek, and absolutely brilliant, especially when it came to anything dealing with computers. Before Chase had even left high school at the age of 16, he had already been offered a high paying job in computer security for a large company.
For most people, holidays were a great time to be happy and spend time with their families. For Jen, that very time with her family only meant that her feelings of inadequacy and inferiority were reinforced. It was as though each of them had been given some great gift when they were born, but when it was her turn, there was nothing left for her. Where all of her siblings were successful and good at what they did, she was plain looking and without any noticeable talent. She was barely even passing several of her classes at school. Every time she saw her brothers or sisters, she seethed in envy for how easy they had it.
Jen was tired of living in the shadow of her siblings, of being measured against their accomplishments and falling short. But now, Jen was determined to change that and she had finally found a way to do it.
"They're all here," she muttered to herself when she saw that Jack, the last to arrive had just come through the door. She allowed herself a faint surge of hope then rushed to her bedroom, "God, I hope this works…"
As soon as Jen was alone in her room, she locked the door and reached under her bed, pulling out a cardboard box that contained everything she would need. She had been gathering the materials for the last two weeks in preparation for the holiday. But the most important thing in the box was a simple sheet of paper.
"Here it is," Jen grinned excitedly as she held it up, staring at the magic spell which she hoped change things for the better.
Jen had stumbled across the magic spell several weeks ago by pure chance. It had been folded up in the pages of a book that she'd checked out from the library. The page said that it was a spell to take traits from one person and give them to another. Jen wasn't sure why, but the moment that she saw the spell, she became absolutely certain that it would work. It had to. It was her only chance…
As far as Jen could tell, the only problem with the spell was that it could only work on blood relations. That severely limited Jen's options of possible targets since her only family were her parents and siblings, though she didn't consider that much of a problem. In fact, she doubted that she would use it on anyone other than her siblings even if she could.
"Now it'll be my turn," Jen muttered as she quickly set out everything the spell said she would need.
After Jen drew a circle on her floor, she carefully placed five candles. Four of them represented her siblings and would be placed around the circle while the fifth one represented her and was placed in the center. Each candle was labeled with the name of the person that it represented and Jen triple checked to make sure that they were each in the correct place.
Finally, Jen read the strange words on the piece of paper, feeling the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. She could feel something, some sort of gathering power. It was building in the room, flowing around her. Then it suddenly struck, sending a surge of energy through every fiber of her body.
"Oh God," Jen gasped, feeling very odd though not sure how to explain the sensations even to herself.
For a moment, Jen just stood there, knowing that the spell had done SOMETHING, but not yet sure it had done what it was supposed to. She looked down at herself, feeling nervous and excited at the same time.
"Please work," she whispered, turning to look into the large mirror which hung from her wall. She grimaced, disappointed to see her normal plain looking self staring back. "It didn't work.."
Jen gulped, feeling a horrible disappointment settling over her. She bit back on the tears that threatened to burst forth. Then she took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. She looked around her room for something, anything that could distract her. Her eyes locked on the computer in the corner.
"Stupid thing," she muttered, "It's so obsolete… And the security is obviously a joke…" She shook her head, thinking of at least a dozen vulnerabilities to software platform that needed to be fixed. "I need to get a better firewall…"
Then Jen suddenly paused, staring at the computer in realization. She didn't know anything about computers…or at least she hadn't. Yet there she was, thinking about her computer as though she were some sort of expert, somehow understanding how the whole thing worked and how she could exploit the software.
"It worked," Jen gasped in delight.
Jen closed her eyes, stunned to realized just how much she now knew about computers and software. Before, the whole subject had seemed as clear as mud. It was like some foreign language that she couldn't make any sense of whatsoever. Yet now, it all seemed so clear and simple.
"I've got Chase's knowledge," she whispered with a grin.
Just then, Jen felt a strange tingling along her skin. A moment later, she realized that she could feel her body changing. She rushed back to the mirror, staring at her reflection in awe. Her skin had smoothed up and she now had a perfect complexion. Her hair was turning a dark blonde and growing longer as she watched. Then the other changes began. She stared her fingernails, watching in awe as they grew out and became perfectly manicured.
"Incredible," Jen gasped in awe, feeling even more excited as the changes continued.
Jen grabbed her chest, which was slowly filling out. Her A cup breasts grew until she had to undo her bra, and then they continued to grow, bursting free from her shirt and stopping at a full D cup size. She gasped in shock as the rest of her body followed, growing more sexy and curvaceous. Somehow, she had even grown two inches taller.
"I'm gorgeous," Jen giggled, staring at herself in the mirror. "It gave me Eilene's sexiness…"
Then Jen paused, listening to a scream coming from the other room. It sounded like it was coming from Eilene. Jen felt a faint tinge of guilt at that, though it quickly vanished as she looked down at her vastly improved body.
But before Jen could fully examine herself and all of the changes, she felt the changes start all over again. This time though, they were a little different. She quickly started to grow larger and had to tear off the rest of her clothes as they became far too tight. A few seconds later, they almost looked small in her hands."I'm getting taller," she exclaimed, staring at the floor which became further away with every passing second.
When Jen stopped growing taller, she realized that she was still growing in changing in other parts of her body. Her muscles all felt tight and seemed to surge with strength. It was as though they were all tensing at once, then swelling larger. She stared down at her stomach, amazed to see the visible shapes of muscles forming and increasing until she had clearly defined six-pack abs.
"Holy shit," Jen blurted out, flexing her arm and staring at the very obvious and solid looking bicep. "I'm getting huge… I'm ripped, just like Jack.."
Jen shook her head in amazement, realizing that when she'd cast the spell to take Jack's athletic abilities, she'd never really considered that she'd gain all of his size and muscles as well. As it was, she felt like some sort if giantess, some sort of powerful amazon. She'd never felt so strong and powerful before in her life.
"I've got all his skills too," she grinned, KNOWING that she could perform every martial arts move that Jack could. She could do it just as easily as if those skills and experiences had always been her own.
When the sensations of changing hit Jen again, she was expecting it. The physical changes weren't nearly as extreme as they had been for Jack or even Eilene, but she could still feel some of them. More noticeable was the strangeness that flickered through her mind.
As soon as this wave of dizziness passed, Jen turned and stared at the mirror again, more than satisfied with what she saw. She was extremely tall, now 6 foot 6, two inches taller than Jack had been since she'd gained a few inches of height from Eilene as well. Her whole body was covered with well defined muscle, yet she still had all of the curves and sexiness she had taken from Eilene. She stood there as a gorgeous, sexy amazon goddess.
Jen immediately noticed the physical traits that she'd gained from Beth, though they were far more subtle than those from Jack and Eilene. In spite of still only being 17, Jen somehow looked older and more mature. Her reflection had an air of confidence and sophistication, screaming that this was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted and how to get it.
"Very nice," Jen mused with a smile, feeling more than a little pleased by how she had turned out. She hadn't expected to actually gain Jack's size and strength, though now that she had it, she couldn't imagine being the small and weak girl that she had been again.
After a moment, Jen closed her eyes, taking mental stock of everything that she had gained, thanks to the organizational skills she had taken from Beth. She had not only gained all of Chase's knowledge and skills with computers, but suspected that she had gained a good portion of his intelligence as well. From Eilene, she had not only gained her sister's sexiness, but her confidence with that sexiness and the skills to put it to use. Jack had obviously given her his size, strength and muscles, but he had also given her his raw athletic talent and all of the skills that went along with it.
"Judo, Aikido and kickboxing," Jen mused to herself as she named the martial arts that Jack had once mastered. "I can do all that and throw football pass…"
And then there was Beth, who's unwilling donations had been primarily knowledge, skills and personality traits. Jen was a little startled to realize just how much of those she had taken, though she certainly wasn't about to complain. She now had all of Beth's business savvy, her skill at reading and manipulating people, her confidence and decision making abilities as well as her driving will to win.
Jen smiled at what she had become, suddenly VERY thankful that she had found the magic spell. The day that she'd found that spell was the second best in her life, with that one being the first.
"I feel utterly fantastic," Jen laughed.
Then she turned her attention to more practical matters and looked through her room for something to wear. However, she didn't have a thing that would actually fit her so she just wrapped a blanked from her bed around herself. Then she stepped out the door to face her family and see what had become of them.
Jen silently looked over the confused people in the living room, calmly keeping her face neutral and not showing her excitement. Controlling her emotions and the face she presented to other people seemed so easy now as to be second nature.
Beth was sitting on the couch with a somewhat vague expression on her face, barely seeming to notice the others or at least unable to decide what she herself could do. Chase was trying to comfort a now flat chested and plain looking Eilene, apparently not yet having realized his own loss. Jack had shrunk nearly a foot in height to Jen's old height of 5 foot 6, and all of his muscles had vanished from his once athletic frame. He had a look of horror and shock on his face.
"What's going on?" Jack cried out, "What's happening to us?"
"I don't know," Jen exclaimed, deciding to play the part of innocence. Even if any of them suspected that she was responsible for this, she doubted that they would ever be able to prove a thing. "But I rather like it…"
Everyone froze and stared at Jen for a moment before they started giving various theories as to what was going on. Aliens, secret government experiments and even a punishment from the heavens was suggested, though Beth couldn't seem to decide on any of them.
Once everyone had calmed down a little, Jen sat back with a half smile, still playing the role of innocent girl who had suddenly changed without explanation. It was difficult to hide just how much she had changed, but she knew that it was best they not realize how much she had changed mentally as well. That could make things difficult for her late.
But as Jen thought about what she had become and all that she had gained, she realized that she wanted more. Thanks to the driving ambition she had taken from Beth, she wasn't about to settle for anything less than the best. And that meant there were still two more people who could 'donate' to the new and improved Jen.
With that, Jen turned her attention to her father, a Nobel prize nominated physicist who had been quite the athlete when he was younger, and then to her mother, a former beauty queen turned surgeon. Both had so much to offer…her. But after a moment, she decided to hold off on that for the moment. It would be best to hold off casting the spell again until after her siblings were gone and wouldn't be around to complicate things anymore.
Jen looked around at her family, at Jack who was shaking and in denial and Eilene who was still crying to herself. For a moment, she felt guilty for what she had done to them though she easily pushed that feeling away. For her entire life, she had been plain and ignored, in the shadow of her entire family. They had each been gifted and talented, but not anymore. Now it was HER turn to shine.
After a moment, Jen looked down at her fantastic new body and smirked, suddenly realizing just how appropriate it was that this was Thanksgiving day. After all, for Thanksgiving this year, she truly had something to be thankful for.
The End
