Of course, you're right. Don't they know that she-hulk is all we have! There are countless other super-heroines out there with no muscles. Can't they just let us have this one?

Nope, fraid not. They see it as their righteous duty to keep all superheroines looking like rake-thin fashion models. It only us, the malcontent mavericks that refuse accept their version of comicdom reality. 8)
Anyone have any idea on the release date?

~ Mark Twain / Samuel Clemens (1907)February 11, 2009 at 8:24 pm #80278LingsterKeymasterOriginal planned publication date was February or March, 2006. This comic is so late that Marvel started from scratch this month and re-released the #1. I will probably wait for the trade paperback, which is how the comic should have been published – NOW – if Marvel had any sense of decency whatsoever.

This makes me laugh and cry for the same reasons.

Of the muscles, at least. Not so much the gamma-blond hair.
February 25, 2009 at 8:17 pm #80281Prophet TenebraeParticipantYeah, I like the look… I think one of the problems with the Ultimate Universe is that – beyond being younger, edgier and grittier – it too often takes characters and doesn't REALLY change them all that much. So, that they did something different is good.
As to the delays… well, it's no secret Joe Q is keen to do pretty much everything he can to piss off fans – and what better way to do that than hire Hollywood writers and then cut them as much slack as they like. Of course, Kevin Smith has since accrued many more crimes to his name since The Evil That Men Do…
But yeah, beyond making me further doubt that there is any driving logic in the comic book industry beyond Wolverine = profit – I'm passed caring about the delays, when I have the book in my hand I will simply sigh in relief and hope that it doesn't suck. Or retcon the Ultimate She-Hulk into a rape victim.
February 25, 2009 at 11:38 pm #80282hotrod_5ParticipantI'm hoping Marvel doesn't drop the ball with Ultimate She-Hulk character. What I'm curious about who is She-Hulk human alter ego? Jen Walters is a scientist working with Betty Ross, will she somehow become She-Hulk?
February 27, 2009 at 6:53 am #80283Prophet TenebraeParticipantWe'll find out soon enough but as I've said elsewhere – continuity wise, Betty Ross being She-Hulk does not compute.
Yes, it would be cool – definitely – but it would make no sense given the events at the end of The Ultimates 2. In fact, it would pretty much directly contradict them. Which isn't to say Marvel is a bastion of continuity but I don't think they'd go for such an obvious about face. I'd make some comment about the writer having so damned long to think about this that he'd probably know that… but hey, Kevin Smith spent 2 years writing The Evil That Men Do and thought retconning Black Cat into a rape victim was a super idea.
As I've said, The Ultimate Universe has a habit of taking characters and making them grittier and edgier… or I suppose making them really lame – like Mr. Sinister and Doctor Doom. Also, introducing Ultimate characters and then just killing them.
Also, they're cutting back on the number of Ultimate titles… But I guess we'll find out, come April.
February 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm #80284HolidayParticipantIt seems Ultima She-Hulk will be the one to save Ultima Wolverine's butt (and left leg. I'm also dismayed at how Ultimate Marvel is too often gritty. But I don't mind them killing off characters because they're not the mainstream ones I like.
They turned one of Peter Parker's classmates into Firestar, and added that she is the daughter of the Blob. WTF?
