OK, I was reminded by this eBay auction of two long term "wants" of mine.

In the early 50s, maybe 1953, the Tarzan Sunday comic strip (and possibly the dailies as well) ran a series wherein Tarzan encountered a race of muscular amazons, all of whom possessed far greater physical strength than he. I’ve seen snippets of those strips but not much.

In the mid 1970s – probably during the Carter administration – Captain Easy ran a series wherein the Captain used the "breathe method" to turn underdeveloped women into brawny bombshells.

I now know that the Poughkeepsie New Yorker newspaper ran both strips, so if you’re in that neck of the woods it would be nice if you could spend a few hours going through microfilm at your local library recovering those comics.

It looks as if the old Chicago Times (prior to merger with the Sun) carried the Tarzan strip, as I believe did the NY Post. I’d love to see those strips.

I believe many of the Tarzan strips are collected at LH-Art. I think I’ve seen them there – the ‘woo woo’ women or something, right?

Ummmm…not appropriate. LH-Art is where I first spotted the strips, but the collection is incomplete. I’d like to see the whole storyline.

If anyone wants to see a partial collection, lhart.com has them in the members area, I think.

OOOHHHHH , I remenber that strip, Easy and is friend were called to a ranch to investagate , strange happenings. A sexy Cowgirl runs the ranch after her father was killed under mysterous circumstances. Bad guys are trying to run her off the land.

There’s a HUGE Uranium vein that runs under the ranch.

The bad Guys capture her and bring to a cave , she absords a dose of radation , and becomes super strong, she break free and makes it back to the ranch,some scare off the horses, she runs them down.

captain easy and co. are captured she free them and beat up the bad guys.

The take her to a lab and find out she gain super strength,speed.

mean while Capt Friend finds out that a cartoonist he knowns is in the hospital, after he showed his publisher the secret of strength

gain, but he has accident.Capts Friend goes to the home of the artist, and find a comic strip with him in it doing the breathing excersise . so he tryes it.

next pannel he’s calling out to his wife, saying lets go to the beach,he all muscley.

He than goes to the publisher and shows him what he found out.

and he expands,than he gets a idea , takes a VERY thin woman

to a back room ,and shows her how to breath, they come out she is very built. with big boobies. thepublisher is trying to finf out to market the excersise. But gets and Idea, and called his friend in Hollywood. and Capt.easy Friend makes super hero movies.

But the US President By a sexy island Queen, and he and the cowgiel are sent to rescue him.late 77 thru78.the story line ran

Well, it may take some time for the eventual strips to be reprinted but, here's some good news…
