ParticipantI like this topic, because we're getting loose and free with the term "muscular" (Jolene Blaylock? Pamela Anderson?!) and "celebrity": a boxer basically playing herself in a movie (as fine as she may be) and stunt people turned actors shouldn't count as celebrities. ;D

Bah, unfortunately these celebrities are doing it wrong and giving a bad name to muscular gals in the process.

ParticipantI kinda found it a bit funny that she "hated" her muscles… Doesn't she realize that there are countless women out there that would love to have that kind of physique?

ParticipantI read that Angela Bassett's awesome arms made a comeback at this year's Grammy Awards.

ParticipantI nearly forgot B-Movie actress Maria Ford. Anyone remember this magazine cover?
While you're at it, check out http://www.angelfire.com/film/mariaford/
I'd think her arms would be better if only by way of osmosis while working her core and legs. Ok, I need a tissue. ::)

Jolene purposefully atrophied much of her muscle while on ST: Enterprise. Fortunately, her midsection remained very toned. We are being far less "loose" with the word than you suggest. Just look at some of the women in Figure divisions, or at amateur female bodybuilders. Many are very small, soft, and lack any noticible muscle… many are far smaller, softer, and less muscular than a great number of the names mentioned in this thread. Yet to talk about them in their own thread, the general trend of this board would be more focused on hopeful speculation of their future progress toward an ever more impressive physique.
The Jolene clip I linked to was the best I could find in a limited search. A long time ago I had found a better "decontamination" clip for which I was able to screen cap some stills which showed a very impressive amount of arm muscle. One of these days I may again find another clip of the same scene. If I ever do, I will need to post screen captures here.
I don't especially care for Pam Anderson, but she does have a legitimate gym body.
This thread is merely titled "Muscular Celebrities". That makes a broad array of "Celebrities" eligible for mention here. A boxer who plays herself in a wide distribution movie is playing herself because she is a known celebrity. A stunt person turned actor (who can ride the hood of a muscle car doing 90 mph… I know I couldn't do that without getting killed) still counts as a celebrity, as does an actor who starts a music career (like Jada Pinkett who now has a rock band), or even a socialite like Tara Palmer Tompkinson who may only have been known through red carpet appearances, though even she has done some modeling. (Technically speaking, legitimate celebrities could also be considered bodybuilders cast in acting roles… Sue Price and Sharron Bruneau in the Nemesis movies, Raye Hollitt in Skin Deep, Kim Chizevsky in The Cell, etc., etc.)
This thread is possibly as close to a free-for-all as we may expect to find on this board. But I don't recall seeing any names mentioned that I would consider illegitimate. Keira Knightley is perhaps one of the least muscular names mentioned so far in this thread, but she is an extreme ectomorph. Her abs tell no lies. Were she merely lean, her stomach would be flat but soft. As far back as I can remember, all the pictures of her midsection that I can recall show stomach muscles. Unfortunately, as Hollywood goes, we just need to take what we can get and be thankful for it.
Incidentally, I think Tara is completely hot. No accounting for the differences in personal taste as usual. As for her comments about not liking her muscle, its not hard to figure out that she's lying. She's basically denying that she works out… well every person on this board knows that she works out. And the real truth about her physique is that she enjoys it and is proud of it. Remember, truth is in a person's actions, not in their words. If she did not like her physique, she would stop weight training or reduce her work out frequency and intensity. If she disliked her physique, she would not show it off in revealing outfits, or in modeling sessions. Why do people tell such lies? Who knows. People even lie to themselves. One look at her arms and abs is the only truth anyone should need.
