Looking nice. For a brief moment I actually thought it was Wreck Shop who penciled that page, kind of toning it down from his usual over the top fem physique to cater to the center audience taste.

Keep on trying. It takes time to become a master of this stuff. You’re off to a good start with this picture.

Looks nice. That could be the cover for a professional comic book if it was inked and colored.

Well, the character is AC Comics’ "Nightveil".

And I chuckle over this pic because I used to work with Bill Black (AC’s publisher) years ago, making color separations. And he’s said in no uncertain terms (both to me personally and in interviews in print) he absolutely does not like muscles on women. (In fact, his "justification" for giving his characters such large breasts was that that’s where they "store their powers"… I wish I could remember exactly where he said that, but it’s true.)

And one more note about the background… the stars are supposed to go inside the cloak. It’s supposed to be an interdimensional portal or something, I don’t know, it’s been years since I’ve paid any real attention to the character.

I’ve heard stories about comics publishers like that. Back in college a guy was doing work for a indie start up that died on it’s first issue. The story in question called for a 90 year old lady to be the supporting character. So the artist, reading the script makes the character wrinkled, gray hared and frail. The publisher would have none of it, and supplied the artist with pictures of sports illustrated swimsuit models and told him to draw the character like a 20 year old street walker. This made no sense so the artist asked him why a 90 year old woman was to be drawn like a nubile prostitute. The publishers excuse was that that this character had powers that prevented her from aging. Of course, in the scripts, this was never mentioned. The real reason was that the publisher thought bad girls would sell more comics so he made a last second change in the story so he could show more nubile skin.

Gotta love those dialogue boxes. It has the ring of a 1940’s radio announcer. Tiz nifty.

Thanks all around. 😀 I’ve only recently been getting back into doing one-offs outside of the comic…I’ve spent a lot of time trying to hit a mainstream nerve with it, but people just won’t have it. :p So, I’m beginning to work within the genre again, where I’m appreciated.

Sorry to hear the effort didn’t take. At least you tried though.

    I believe registration is free.

To insert a drawing you will need to have it loaded on a server of your own that allows hotlinking. From there you use the "Img" button above the dialogue box to place the link to your image. Paste the link next to the tag [Img] then click the text that says "Close Tags". This procedure should take care of your problem.
