Not if Vincent D'Onofrio has anything to say about it!

    Who's he?

Sorry for restarting an old topic, but I've not long been around here, so I couldn't post while this topic was still fresh.
As I mentioned when I joined Amaz0ns, I'm disabled and confined to a wheelchair, so exercising (other than things like swimming) is difficult for me.  I do have a lightweight manual wheelchair, so I propel myself around in that, and I recently purchased grip-strengthening putty, as this has been a weak spot for me.
As for physique, well, my disability affects my stature (I'm barely over 4' tall), so my adult-sized head is out-of proportion with the rest of me, rather as a baby's head is (what a handsome picture I'm painting ;D ::))l  I used to be quite skinny, but in the last 2-3 years have started to put on weight around my stomach, which I know is dangerous in men, hence why I am trunk to up my amount of exercise.  The only part of me that's properly strong are my upper arms, as I use these to lift my backside up in order to transfer from wheelchair to be, sofa (couch) etc.  This meas that I do actually have some sort of biceps, but otherwise I'm afraid I'm pretty weedy, although, of course, in my mind I'm 6'2", able-bodied and muscular. ;D 8)

Thanks for the info. Lingster, all I've got to wait for now are some new shots of Jess working-out, with her muscles pumped, and I'll be a happy bunny. ;D 8)  I must admit, I wanted to shout at the idiot Phil, who was obviously behind the "Jessica Biel is a muscle man" post that you mentioned a while back.  As far as he's concerned, even being a little bit buff removes almost all of a woman's femininity.  If he really can only find someone as spectacularly beautiful as Jess sexy when she's not pumped, then, as I suggested earlier in this thread, I really think he's beyond help. ;D

Type "M" is just about perfect for my taste.

That was part of the reason I suggested dropping it – Amaz0ns isn't perhaps the place for this sort of thing.  I also felt that discussing it here was perhaps in slightly poor taste.  I just find it so saddening, having just watched BBC "Look East" to hear women saying that they won't stay out after early twilight without their father/husband/boyfriend being with them – it just seems so wrong.  I suppose I've read too many stories on Diana the Valkyrie's site where muggings etc. are prevented by physically strong women, and then to be brutally reminded of what happens in the "real world" (which I think is getting more and more polluted by dreadful events like this) is desperately depressing.  Dammit, why can't the evil bastard who's done this come up against a real-life Amazon, and get hauled into a Police station by his collar by her after she's beaten seven shades of whatever out of him?  I know that in itself might be in slightly poor taste, but I wish for it purely out of a desire to see justice done, and to me, it just feels "right" for him to get his comeuppance against a woman.
Perhaps I'm too much in the "eye for an eye" tradition (although I'm an atheist), but I want some real vengeance to be wrought.
Ugh, I hate it when I feel like this, but it just gets me so sad and angry.  I won't post on this again, so the topic can be dropped quietly.  Now that I've had my rant, I feel much better.  Thanks SyberStyx.

Thanks for your understanding, SyberStyx.  I didn't put what I meant very well last night – tiredness led to sloppiness of writing.  All I wondered was whether a society that treated women as PHYSICAL equals (thankfully, the old patriarchal views of women in most other areas of life are dead and buried) might have less of this sort of thing, but, as you pointed-out, one of the few hallmarks of these psychos seems to be that they are removed from society and its views, so it probably wouldn't happen.  It was interesting to read your views on violence against men, though, as many people seem to think that it hardly happens, which is, of course, well wide of the mark.  Men get raped and mugged surprisingly frequently given all the factors we usually associate with these sorts of crimes.
Do you think it's time to drop this thread, out of respect for the families of the dead women?  I don't think it's particularly pertinent for a community like Amaz0ons.  Perhaps it was unwise for me to start it.

Thanks for your views, SyberStyz – I didn't realise you were also British – there seem to be more of us around than I thought.  I didn't try to give the impression that I believed that being strong would have helped these women, what I meant was that I wondered whether a society as I described would tend to have less violence towards women – whether even a pathological weirdo like the killer in this case would possibly be dissuaded.  I certainly didn't want to judge these women though – I think that we could possibly only understand if we ourselves had a drug addiction, or were reliant on a pimp to make ends meet etc.

OK, thanks SyberStyk.  I'll hope that one of the mods moves it.  Have you got an opinion on the point I raised?  Has anyone else got an opinion, or am I alone in my views?

Oops, that should have read "fully-blown feminist" meaning that I don't believe that a man can ever truly be a feminist as he has never experienced the downside of our still generally patriarchal society.  Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks, can you tell me how to move it there, please?
