Well, that was a hell of an issue. For starters, compared to She-Hulk, Titania now looks like a shrimp. The scene where Jen punches Titania to no effect is a stunner – Jen’s massive arm, blunted against Titania’s jaw, is bigger than either one of Titania’s legs.
The scenes of She-Hulk poking around wearing the power-sapping suit are awesome, too. She’s so large that the anodyne white suit is skin-tight – all her muscles are visible.
I wonder how this She-Hulk will be portrayed in the relaunched series? Since Slott has shown she has trouble judging her own strength, will she try to shed some of the muscle?

Discuss it when you get it!

Oh, dagnabbit. If I remember my Infinity Gauntlet, the power gem doesn’t do anything to the wearer’s size. Of course, if Titania had another gem – reality? – she could make herself grow anyway, just to threaten She-Hulk. She looks frigging enormous on that issue #12 cover, so I’m still hoping for that.
December 2, 2004 at 10:15 pm in reply to: She-Hulk Vol 3 – Issues #8-#12 – "Stronger then ever" – [Topics Merged] #10202Mr BurroughsParticipantOh … is the gem currently shattered and in pieces? Otherwise, that convinces me it’s the power gem after all. Maybe the guy talking to the Watcher is Champion.
December 2, 2004 at 1:15 am in reply to: She-Hulk Vol 3 – Issues #8-#12 – "Stronger then ever" – [Topics Merged] #10199Mr BurroughsParticipantOkay – according to this site, the gem was used last in Uncanny X-Men #436, which was dated March 2004. It was the focal point in a crossover story involving … drumroll … She-Hulk!

That issue is apparently collected in the latest Uncanny trade (vol. 6), if anyone wants to see what happened with the gem.
If it’s worth anything, Mayhew’s cover for She-Hulk #12 (http://www.marvel.com/catalog/showcomic.htm?id=1648&format=comic) doesn’t portray Titania as very bulky. But she looks enormous – way taller than the 6’6” she’s supposed to be.
December 2, 2004 at 12:41 am in reply to: She-Hulk Vol 3 – Issues #8-#12 – "Stronger then ever" – [Topics Merged] #10197Mr BurroughsParticipantGeez, I have no clue. I’m really behind on my Marvel lore – I’ve only been reading the X-Books, She-Hulk and Runaways for the last few years.
SPOILER
Where is Juggernaut’s gem at the moment? I know the Power Gem is back on the planet where She-Hulk defeated Champion … but would this space stranger have access to Juggernaut’s gem?
Anyway, does that gem make the user magically become huge, or is there a growth process?
December 1, 2004 at 10:54 pm in reply to: She-Hulk Vol 3 – Issues #8-#12 – "Stronger then ever" – [Topics Merged] #10195Mr BurroughsParticipantThe first four pages of the new issue, due in 7 days, are up at Popcultureshock.

Unfortunately, the bulk of the preview focuses on the narrator. Fortunately, the muscle we’re about to see looks very nice.

Next issue’s cover shows Titania with a red gem on her forehead. It’s probably either the Power Gem (a la Infinity Gauntlet) or that gem the Juggernaut uses. In either case, might we see some muscle growth in this issue?

Behold, the bulked-up Jen Walters, as presented by new penciller Paul Pelletier.
Paul handled pencil duties on issues 5 and 6, pre-power boost. His new rendition of the character is noticably bigger.
October 26, 2004 at 3:30 am in reply to: She-Hulk Vol 3 – Issues #8-#12 – "Stronger then ever" – [Topics Merged] #10187Mr BurroughsParticipantLingster ran up a pretty cool thread when it came out.

The moment Jen reveals her new muscles is priceless. Champion says something along the lines of "What has happened to you, woman?" Jen flexes a massive bicep and tilts her head snarkily. "Oh, you mean this? I’ve been working out."
If anyone sees previews of issue #9, post ’em. It’ll be interesting to see how Pelletier portrays Jen – in #5 and #6 he gave her a much more traditional look than Bobillo did.

He wrapped up the Dark Horse Extra story then … and hasn’t drawn any MM&O’B strips since then. He sort of mocked us by drawing covers for the very un-amazonian "Angel and the Ape" series in 2001.
If anyone has Adams’ email or snail mail address, could it hurt to send him something encouraging? The world needs an Oniko story. There hasn’t been anything of Oniko apart from some splash pages that apparently weren’t made into stories.
Hey, if anyone wants to write an Ann O’Brien story on this site, they would have my regards.
