Aw damn… Bobillo’s back on art. Why couldn’t they keep Paul Pelletier?

maybe someone can take the hip section and reverse it ,than post it to her body and make a layer on top of layer with the orginal pic and the switched hip pic and she look like she’s dancing!(^o^)

    Like this?

That form is simply stunning. I wonder what Tetsuko did as a hobby.

Actually, Tetsuko doesn’t go "clubbing" all that often. (I don’t, so I don’t know anything about it, except that there seem to be some rather unsavory aspects to it that I’d rather not see Tet-chan involved in. She does enjoy dancing, and dressing in hot clothes; she doesn’t drink a lot, maybe one beer or mixed drink a week, and she won’t do drugs.)

As for the size matter, I assumed that her muscles retracted somewhat when she wasn’t under duress.

I keep looking at her arms, and I can’t see a way to give them any more size without making her head look ridiculously small. So I’m going to leave them as they are.

Darn you for making me think this early in the morning!! 🙂

For me (and maybe for a few others in this forum), it really is two questions, according to whether we’re talking real or fantasy. (And as I’ve been composing my reply here, I find it hard to separate the specific question of body fat from

Fantasy: as an artist, I can idealize and stylize the women I draw until she’s the exact fulfillment of whatever dream of ultimate (not always ideal) feminine pulchritude I happen to be trying to express, even if it’s impossible to see this kind of woman in real life. To use my own characters as examples: although there are times when the more "realistic" build and proportions of Satin Steele are more appealing, more often than not Tetsuko stands as the visual realization of my ultimate fantasy woman: tall, long blonde hair, cute Kim Kilper-ish face, massively muscular with a level of definition and vascularity that suggests she’s only a couple of weeks away from contest-ready, yet with incredibly large (natural) breasts… as noted before, not a combination you’d ever be able to see in real life.

As for real-life women: I don’t like the extremes of skinniness or obesity. But i still surprise myself sometimes by how much body fat I’m willing to accpet on a woman; because more often than not it all depends on the woman. I’ve seen some that can carry a good 200 pounds and still keep a nice "hourglass" figure, while others look obese at 160. Generally, though, I like a firm look to a woman’s flesh, and the more muscle she carries, the better I like looking at her. (I’m happily married, so I don’t have any business doing anything but look!) I’m starting to back away from the ultra-shredded (or as El_Roy_1999 so amusingly but aptly put it, "super-dry") contest look I used to be fond of; but (once again, generally), the more muscle a woman carries, the more definition I like to see. I don’t like it when I see the same woman who, in a contest photo shows incredible definition and vascularity with nicely peaked biceps, comes in for an off-season photo shoot so overweight and smooth she can’t even raise a decent bulge when she flexes her arms.

(I gotta stop writing now… I got stuff to draw!!)

    Iss goot pic.

And DCM’s pun isn’t as bad as this one…

Which average spud reported all this craziness on the news?

*groaner buffer zone edited for space*

    … the sports common tater.

But the results were worth the trouble! I’ve seen too many collages and morphs where the perpetrator just stuck a model he’d cut away from its background and stuck it into a new picture without making any effort (or at least minimal effort) into making the kind of color adjustments, postulating shadows, even the effects of atmosphere on the picture. The effort you put into your pics is much appreciated!

The un’inked’ blue line pic compels a reaction from me more than the pre-colored version.

I know what you mean. I’ve seen (and done) quite a few rough drawings that capture a sense of life and vitality that, sadly, never quite translates to the finished line quite as nicely as I’d like. (For example, I love the mouth in the rough sketch better than the inked version.)

I think it’s because your chracture/portraiture skills shine through as if you’re drawing her from life or at least the vibrant existence she has in your well populated imagination.

    Thank you for the compliment!

It would be interesting if you ever drew one of your characters, perhaps Dr.Gannon seeing as she isn’t saving the world 24/7 😛 , as if they just walked up to your kiosk by the Brown Derby. Not nessicarily ‘realistic’ but as you render the multitudes that stop by for a piece of the magic kingdom on paper.

I hadn’t given that much thought; I guess because my "job" art and my "real" art (the stuff I post here and at my site) are so different in purpose and execution. And I like to leave my work at the job (which is why I rarely do caricatures away from the stand). The closest I came to what you describe is several years ago, when I was doing airbrush (still ata the Disney-MGM Studios), and, during an idle moment I executed this portrait of Satin Steele. (I hated the maintenance I had to put into the airbrush equipment, though, so I don’t do airbrush anymore.)

Though a sketch of Dyna fighting the Giant ‘Chicken Little’ inflatable would be sensually surreal.

GAAAK! I’d almost forgotten about that monstrosity; why’d you have to remind me of it??!! They actually took that thing down after a couple of weeks, so it’s been months since it’s been seen. (Although with the premiere of the movie just a few months away, I wouldn’t be surprised if it rears its giant head again…)

➡ For those who have no idea what the hell all this talk about a "giant Chicken Little inflatable" is about

great job DCM, from one Dave to another!

    but as JimmyDimples said…

    "Nice pic… but… ó_ô

… is it just me, or have her arms shrunk?"

I wonder the same ^_^, off season Tet-chan?

Hmm. I’ll have to take a longer, harder look at the pic. Tetsuko isn’t technically a bodybuilder, so she wouldn’t have an "on-" or "off-season" look, but I do use as much muscular detail – definition, vascualrity, etc. – as I think the pic needs. For this one, I think maybe not so high a degree of detail. Still, maybe I do need to take another look at the size of her arms.

That’s some really great stuff DCM. So it’s all photoshop? What brush settings do you use for all of it?

Actually, it’s Corel Painter 8. (I’m a version behind, but I haven’t seen the need to upgrade yet.) I like the pencil and pen tools much in Painter much better than Photoshop’s, although (this is strange but true) I get better results coloring in Photoshop even though Painter touts itself as better at recreating not only the results but the "feel" of using "real world" media and tools. Or maybe because Painter tries so hard to be "authentic", I find Photoshop’s coloring tools to be much more straightforward and easy to use. So… Painter for drawing, and Photoshop for painting… does that make sense?? (Well, it seems to work for me.)

So this drawing hasn’t been in Photoshop yet… that’s the next step.

And those of you who’ve recently purchased Wacom tablets probably got Corel Painter Essentials 2, a bare-bones version of Painter that should nevertheless give you the same drawing tools as the full version (but I’m not sure, I’ve never used Essentials). I use the 2B variant of the Pencil tool for rough sketches like the blueline above, and the Scratchboard variant of the Pens tool at a size of between 2.9 and 3.6 for "inking".

My first question when I saw this was not "how did he do this collage?", but "How did SHE get into that stadium without crushing a few hundred spectators* under her heels?" …in other words, nice job!!

    *oh no… no! must resist… urge… to make… stupid joke…

"Hey! What do you call a spud that wears glasses? A spectator!" 👿

She’s adorable, but I’m not sure I want to be the one that makes her "mush!" if she doesn’t want to… 🙂
