ParticipantGreat work as usual, man. BTW, nice Tetsuko avatar; is that new, or am I simply oblivious as I usually am?
It's brand-spankin' new; just uploaded last night. Glad you like it.

ParticipantExcellent work and Satin is just simply Supergal-ish looking, too. ๐
Thank you!
BTW – Is it just me, or does the weighing-in official bear more then a little resemblance to a certain artist . . . ๐
No, that's not me, if that's what you mean. The guy I drew is like 6' 3" and 249 of mostly muscle, a former bodybuilder. I'm 5' 10 1/2" and the only thing that keeps me from being the proverbial "98-pound weakling" is that I weigh (considerably) more than 98… When the story finally moves to the evening show, look for me in the audience ๐

ParticipantI do believe that Kara's daughter is Kyra who is now the protector of the jungle. She was in a comic book that was published by Elsewhere comics and which can be ordered through LH-Art, I believe. Kyra was drawn by Robin Ator in the 1980s and she was pretty muscular by the standards of that era (God, I sound old saying that!).
I believe that I read the backstory on that some time ago but I could be wrong on the connection as it has been awhile.
Kyra's mother was actually Kageena, whose adventures are billed by LH-Art as a "revival of th[e] famous Jungle Queen of the fifties." (but a Google search of "Kageena" gets only 10 hits… none of the hits is a link to any sort of info about a '50's jungle-girl comics character named Kageena, and my own Leenah of the Lions page is #5! So I suspect that Kageena is Larry Heller's own creation.)
I remember Kyra very well; she was being published at about the time I was trying to develop Leenah. I dropped plans to publish Leenah when Kyra came out, in the belief that people would mistakenly think I was "ripping off" Kyra.

Participant^_^ I love it as well! If I had to pick one thing to complain about though (and you can choose whether to take this seriously or not…) is that if th woman is saying they vote purely on the muscle…she doesn't really look like she has much to worry about in terms of size…beauty, yeah, Janet's -mooooooooooooore- than a competitor for that, but muscle and size (and I guess maybe even definition), not so much…
just pointing out something I kinda noticed, but I love it nonetheless!…sorry if this discourages you or something…
Thanks very much!
Actually, that's precisely why Holly made the comment… she didn't think (yet, because she hadn't seen Janet's physique) that because the judges vote "on pure muscle", she (Holly) had anything to worry about. Of course, once Janet doffed her sweats for the weigh-in, Holly's perception changed radically; if I'm "discouraged" about anything, it's that I may not have portrayed Holly as sufficiently awed (and worried) by Janet's conditioning. (Amanda, yes, she's a bit of a babbler…)

ParticipantHere's the story that was probably being referred to. I guess she is kinda buffed for Golden Age, but the story is somewhat disappointing. Still, good to know someone's out there keeping this stuff archived.

ParticipantI have to admit that I'm not that big of a fan of pregnant art, but it a very well done peice of work.
I don't understand the (sexual) appeal of pregnant women myself, but something about this just set off my muse for some reason. It's not something I'll be doing too often, though.

ParticipantYour best… picture… EVER. *Drools*
Thank you!
I had a feeling this pic was coming, as I notice you tend to back off on a popular topic for a few days after it's inspired you, DCM. I must say, it's awesome! I'm a bit disappointed that we don't see her belly bare, but the sheer nightie was sheer genius.
I was thinking about leaving her nude; the sheer nightie was a compromise between intimacy and decorum.
Her belly looks a bit small, but I suppose that's only cuz the rest of her is so huge, heh heh heh!
That was a worry for me: whether I'd get her belly the right size, taking into account the size of the rest of her (height, breast size, etc.) I wondered if I'd gotten her belly too big, and would have to explain it away by saying she's carrying twins…
She looks weary, yet peaceful; sexy, yet maternal… an excellent balance.
"Weary, yet peaceful"… That's an interesting observation. Debido-san wonders if she's got bags under her eyes; all I can say is that those weren't supposed to be bags under her eyes, but, hey, it seems to add a nice dimension to the pic, and I'd probably be foolish to change it now. But "sexy, yet maternal" was definitely intended, and I'm gratified that I seem to have succeeded on that score.
