Alright guys, once again Amaz0ns is experiencing a deluge of spam email accounts registering on the forum. Over 400 in the last couple of days. Alex and I will be doing our best to deal with it as much as we can so just bear with us until Lingster can find out what’s going on.

Fun fact, Lingster tried to release a “Mods of Amaz0ns Body Issue” but the 4 publishers he sent it to jumped out their windows screaming “OH GOD MY EYES!!!!”, we think it was some odd food poisoning…..in 4 different states…..within 2 months….. odd huh? :whistle:

Sadly it took me like three minutes to remember how to do this because all I’ve done for 6 months is ban spam accounts

So digging through the user panel in the admin stuff when I was blocking tons of spam accounts I did find a way to edit user signatures, but it has to be done through the admin panel. I guess if anyone wants their signature changed hit me up and I’ll see what I can do for you.

I just deleted about 500 spam accounts, all registered in the last week. There are a couple things I’ve set up to block spam so I’m not sure how so many got through. I’m trying to figure it out.

Thanks, I wasn’t sure if deleting them after blocking them would allow them to re-register or not so I just left them blocked in the site registration.

OK, I increased the protection level for the whole site; also I may have found the vulnerability that let them in in the first place, so I closed it. Cross your fingers.

Great work, that odd forum downtime last week followed by this massive spam barrage had me concerned the site had been compromised again.

wow, this guy is relentless. 27 posts in the last 2 hours all under different names. he really enjoys spamming up our site. what a prick!!!! :angry:

No way to really know if it’s a bot attack or a paid spam farming operation. Based on the registration times in the system being almost exactly a minute apart in some cases I’m guessing it was a bot attack.
