    Actually an official Air Force records review in 2006 confirmed the loss of 25 bombers to enemy aircraft being escorted by the Tuskeegee Airmen, though one surviving member claims his review of the records does not show that as does one other guy who worked at the national defense university. Still impressive considering in some raids bomber squadrons were losing that many in a single mission.

    The HBO movie “The Tuskeegee Airmen” was quite good, though was “Based on a true story” and some characters were composites and not actual fliers. I;’m going to hold off getting too excited for “Red Tails” until I see some more footage.

    It’s good to see some interest in World War 2 exploits, too bad even after 70 years the United States Pacific Submarine Force is virtually unknown to anyone. They carried the war to Japan for two and a half years before the surface navy went on the offensive and they did it with poorly tested defective weapons, ill conceived tactics and far too many unfit commanders. It would be nice to see something about the 442nd Infantry Regiment too, the only all Japanese American combat unit and still the highest decorated unit in United States military history.

    Is there anyway to increase the number of characters you can use in a thread subject?

    How many characters do you want?

    Not a whole lot, 10 – 20 somewhere in there, sometimes when I go to post something I find the topic is too long for the current limit,
