Bought this game, had a chance to get through about half of it in about 20 hours on proud mode. Excellent game thus far, however i feel the story falls short. Where the original had you running from world to world closing the keyholes, this one basically plops you in a world where sora goes "Hey, they need help, lets do it!"

The first 3 – 4 hours are absolutely crap though. I'm not sure what some of you do or do not know about this game, but if you dont wanna hear some stuff that might "ruin" it for you, then i suggest not reading further.

You don't start out as Sora, but rather as a similarly spikey haired kid named Roxas. He is from Twilight Town and hangs out with his friends etc. anything a kid does. All of the sudden, Nobodies (When a strong hearted person whether good or evil turns into a heartless, their shell becomes a nobody). All of the sudden you are a keyblade toting kid having strange dreams about sora and fighting nobodies. It is basically a VERY long tutorial, but it will give you a feel for the mechanics.

After this tutorial and learning about the true nature of Twilight Town, Roxas and his connection to Sora, the REAL game begins

Beasts castle, space paranoids (tron), Hollow Bastion, The WOrld that never was, Dragon lands (Mulan), Pride Lands (lion King), Halloween/Christmas Town, Port Royale (Pirates of carribbean), Agrabah, Mount Olympus (And more importantly the underworld as well) and many more are featured in the game

One of the coolest parts of the game (as well as the feature that will help you win) is a Reaction Command. Basically at certain points of a battle, you will have to quickly (faster in boss battles, not as demanding in regular ones) hit the Triangle button to execute some really cool attacks that are either enemy specific, ally specific (Special allies like jack sparrow, mulan, jack skellington etc.), or ability specific (Sora, Donald and Goofy all have "Trinity" attacks that can be executed).

The little mickey symbols for trinity actions are gone.

The coolest part about the game is its new incorporation of Drive Commands. Basically its a meter (3 bars at first) that fills as you get attacked and as you attack that fills up. Once it is full, and depending on who is in your party, you can transform sora giving him some truly badass abilities. With Goofy, you get Valor Form, which turns your clothes all red, and is basically an onslaught of offe3nsive melee attacks. You can stay in the air hacking at everything for a good 10 seconds in this form. You also get increased jumping and movement abilities with this form.  Did i mention the DUAL WIELDING KEYBLADES in this form?

With Donald you get Wisdom Form which transforms you Blue and gives you a badass magical heavy set of abilities. You no longer walk, but you air-skateboard around and get a dash ability. Your keyblade turns into a little magic shooter and you cannot do melee dmg in this form (at least to my knowledge).

There is a Master form which turns you all yellow with the help of BOTH Donald and Goofy which has both DUAL WIELD AND MAGIC abilities. One keyblade is held while the other levitates in mid air with your mind. I have JUST gotten this form, and at this point my drive guage is up to 5.

The 100a cre wood is back and added to this side world is Atlantis which consists of shoddy DDR exercises.

There is a Final Form which makes you silver but im not there yet.

In the pride lands you turn into a lion which is really unique and fun

There is also a chance to turn into a heartless with each time that you transform into a valor, wisdom or master form.

Pretty awesome game so far, i highly recommend giving it a try (BTW, the guide is kinda useless, and most places offer 20% off the guide with the purchase of the game) I foolishly fell for this ruse and spent 70$ for both the game and the guide. The treasure is not as well "hidden" or unreachable as last time, so unless you really need help with bosses (Which you can just go to http://www.gamefaqs.com anyway, its not worth it.

BTW, the gummy ships are much cooler now.
