Modern productions definitely lean too heavily into the “artsy” direction with all the editing, dramatic lighting, and music video style presentations. Don’t get me wrong – the production quality is objectively better, but something gets lost in translation. When you’ve got five camera angles, slow-motion shots, and heavy filters, you lose that “holy crap, she’s standing right next to a regular person!” element that made the classics so effective.
