ParticipantWell, KtM, I guess it could be worse… 🙄
… you could’ve posted your actual real life photograph. 😈 😛 😉
Hey what’s that supposed to mean?!?! 👿 👿 👿
The avatar is actually going to be replaced as soon as my Wacom is repaired. Because once I get my Wacom back, it’s going to be BIGGER!!! (300 x 500 most likely) 😈
Actually I think the character of your avatar is sympathic (is that word written correctly?)
My avatar is expressing a feeling of pit for the distress of another? 😕 😛 🙄

ParticipantYeah, that sure as hell is a good question to put out into the public view.
For the sake of knowing the answer is no. I have no idea who strawberry is outside of this forum.

ParticipantSeeing as this is one of the most popular threads, I’ll update with what I managed to dig up.
For those of you who don’t know what Danny Phantom is. It’s a show about a boy with ghost like powers who captures ghosts that have escaped from an alternate dimension known as the ‘Phantom Zone.’
In "Teacher of the Year" Danny and his friends have to capture Technus who has managed to find his way into a video game that Danny and his friend Tucker currently play. Danny’s friend Sam:

Well there you have it, not the best but hey. If I find anything better I’ll post it as soon as I find anything.

ParticipantI actually sketch it on paper, scan, ink it in Illustrator and color it in Painter.
What’s wrong with pencil and paper?
There’s nothing wrong with pencil and paper. I still do quite a few sketches in my sketchbook. Sometimes I use a Wacom for about half of my sketches.
I prefer to have the Wacom generally for 4 reasons;
1) Better quality
2) Less time to finish
3) Undos
4) Is a better financial investment than constantly having to buy suppliesAnd for the obvious question of "How is a $200 Wacom tablet a better financial investment over paper and pencil?" To put it simply, over time the Wacom will pay for itself. Before I got a Wacom, I would draft the image in my sketchbook. Pencil and ink the image on bristol board, scan it in and color it with my mouse. In the year I’ve had my Wacom, I’ve completed about 50 – 60 images of various sizes. Based on the usual supplies I got before my Wacom the same 50 – 60 Images would have cost me roughly $130 and wouldn’t have had nearly the same quality as my current images. On top of that, most of the images I’ve done on the Wacom were bordom sketches either done on paper in my sketchbook or in photoshop or sketchbook pro. My avatar was one of the bordom sketches I did in Photoshop while I was in class. Before the Wacom I really had to plan on completing an image. So it’s really an investment to upgrade my artwork.

ParticipantMasschine is right. Muscle is denser than fat. I’m the heaviest member of the family and I have the lowest ammount of fat.

ParticipantI have to say the technical specs on the Genius Wizard Pen are impressive and would make a perfect Wacom alternative but there’s one factor that prevents me from going through with purchasing it. I’m a Mac user. The Genius, like a lot of other pen tablets, is only PC compatible. So I have to stick with dedicating to Wacom. That and I already have the drivers for a Wacom tablet so I don’t have to worry about installing any new programs on my computer.
If I still had my PC I would have easily dropped the few dollars for the Genius tablet. But seeing as the options always drop for Mac users, I really have a limited stock of options.

ParticipantAwsome stuff! I really like Denise, she really pulls off the big muscle look quite well. But I have to admit, after seeing some updated photos of her at AMG, it’s really odd to actually see her forehead.

ParticipantThat Zelda pic looks nice. Just wondering if you use the burn tool on Photoshop to color it. I think the best technique for coloring artwork in photoshop is a brush set at multiply and between 30-60%. Although personally I prefer Painter to do digital colors.
And also to comment on the line work, all the linework is same width everywhere. The thing about artwork that looks the same all around, it tends to be a more mundane image. If you have a Wacom tablet, you can get a more organic look to your artwork in either Photoshop or Illustrator. Here’s a couple good tutorial on this:
