Yeah, I hate to be the morbid one, but I'd also like to know the cause of death.

Her death is unusual, obviously.  And I infer you (and others) are wondering if it had anything to do with steroid use.

Her ex-husband claimed in an article printed in 1996 that Beattie had not used steroids during her IFBB bodybuilding career or during her tenure as an American Gladiator.  (Her first pro contest was in 1991.)  He admitted that she'd used them previous to that, specifically to win the NPC USAs in 1990, and claimed that she stopped competing in the IFBB because she wasn't willing to go back on steroids.  I find his claims credible.
