ParticipantMy dad used to get Egg Beaters, for some reason I didn't seem to tolerate it well. Though this was when I was about 15, I might have just been picky about not having the yolk. x_x I love egg yolk too much to cut it out of the egg.

Participantlol Being Cajun, the strange things bit I know. Honestly, I can't stand too much artificial or overly processed stuff, my intestines reject them. I have to be careful what I eat, like some days I can tolerate foods with a good bit of oils in them, other days, it's an absolute no. Therein lies a problem for me with getting protein. We can't afford steaks and chicken or fish all the time, so we normally get ground beef, the problem there is, even leanest ground beef cooks in with so much oils and fats from the meat that my intestines just go "OOp! Hell no, we've just been slicked down with oil! This shit's not staying!" Sorry if I get kinda… graphic I guess you'd say, so many hospital stays and I just eventually lost all sense of shame by what the body does.

Participant^_^ I could never tire of advice. THat anyone even responds to my posts is enough for me to rejoice. I tend to be rather quiet and shy on forums and I guess I kind of exhude that sort of aura as people tend to overlook me easily it seems. Other places still, people get the impression of me being this naive and innocent, fragile thing that needs protecting, so other times still, I find people jumping in front of me to take a bullet, figureatively speaking, when I just want to stand up for myself and show my own strengths, not that I don't appreciate the chivalry. And I've trailed off topic! My brain! ::blinks dazedly as a zombie gnaws on her head::

ParticipantInteresting. This is extremely counterintuitive. You would think that the digestive process required to break down the protein would detract from recuperative efforts. Isn’t that why we can’t swim in the pool after eating? 😉
I thought that idea of swimming after eating was proven false? Honestly, I've done it all my life and never had problems.

Participant^_^ Thanks so much. Heh, honestly, I rarely snack to begin with, I eat… well, I eat when I'm hungry, I eat usually vegetables, small meal stuffs, whatever I can find in our pantry that seems appealing, what my body is asking for preferably. Though I can't seem to get in a full, balanced meal often. Like one sitting, or what I consider a meal, I'll have just some steamed brocoli, but a lot of it, another I'll have gumbo, but no rice in it, another I may have canned corn, etc. I don't know why, I guess a lack of food funds. I rely on my husband's income, a little too much health problems to work myself, but just enough health to work out. Odd, eh? As far as chemical dependance, I never had any. I can't tolerate them, never could. Heh, about enjoying it and relaxing, I already am even though I haven't gotten a routine for body building yet, what I have been doing to build my strength for, I look forward to it greatly. lol I just wish I could go every single day and not have to wait a day in between sets. Anyways, thanks again, I really appreciate the reply and advice ^_^

ParticipantA big thanks for the support. We're hurting all over Louisiana because of the hurricane's damage in NO. Aside from the direct damage to the city itself, it's rippling out fast to the surrounding major cities like Baton Rouge and here in Lafayette too. We're experiencing a gas shortage as well as overcrowding and a lack of restocking in stores and restaurants because NO was our big port where most of what we have comes from and it's taking a bit for companies to reroute their supplies for some reason. I was thinking of taking up collections inside Second Life where I hang out on the net, but it would take so long to convert the game money into USD and then to move it to paypal and then to our bank account so I could go to the store and get blankets and canned goods to bring directly to the relief centers in the area that it just wouldn't work. By the time anything would get done in such a manner it would no longer be needed. Unfortunately, it's delays that is putting the refugees here at even more of a loss. I heard that Canada's help was finally accepted, I don't see why it took so long for our country to accept that help while people were suffering. I heard too that most of the people have been evacuated with the exception of gangs and tribes that have formed as well as snipers who were actually taking out EMTs and rescuers.
Anyways, again, a big thank you who send donations and help to the relief organizations. We're in great need down here in Louisiana and I know New Orleans itself is chaos. Here in Lafayette with the influx of refugees we thankfully have an influx of police from New Orleans to help out too. But we have no more rooms, all hotels and apartments are full as well as homeless shelters and even many convention centers. We just hope help and a restoration of their city comes for them quickly.
