Let’s stir away from the classic “Blade” and that movie where she’s without a hand…

…and keep on crying 🙁 :pinch:

All hail Michiko NishiwakiB) ! Japanese are never afraid to put an athletic woman in a heroic role without making her look / behave like a guy (even their current bodybuilders and other disciplines practitioners look a lot more balanced and harmonic than their Western colleagues).Something Hollywood still has to…not “learn“, but rethink.

Yeah, yeah, Sue Price and all those “Nemesis” movies, but what I sense is not exactly fear of athleticism, but failing directly when picking the base: you can’t turn naturally slim, tiny actresses into believable fictional fighters, no matter how much abs you see. You know what happens when you shove a lot of training into skinny actresses all of a sudden? Jennifer Garner in “Elektra“: that poor woman didn’t look healthy at all. Compare that with Jessica Biel: she has/had a lot of training experience, so when she pumped up for “Blade“, her muscles happily swole.Linda Hamilton’s conditioning is different because her physique made her look more deranged than strong.

Sorry, what I tried to express is:

“Lucy Lawless *looks* like an amazonian warrior, GG doesn’t. It’s not about the costume, the muscles, the fencing, the fx, or being an alleged Israeli Sup…Hypersoldier.”

Damn me and my poor English.

And the worst part is, although she looks almost emaciated and you can see her front ribs (!!!), all they do is compliment her dress.   :pinch:

Let’s remember those days when her back musculature poured out of her clothes… 🙁

    “Again?” Wasn’t she from Themyscira?:P

Anyway, a woman like Lucy Lawless does look like an ancient warrior…and keep in mind that’s a video capture: they didn’t use Photoshop or a million “articles” describing her “gruesome” training.

Training“…more like “swordfighting practice” to me. Hey, if ouy’re gonna play WW, you should know how to swing a prop around.

Daisy Ridley does that too, and she already looks fitter than GG.

Anyway, they say it’s a decent moovie, so let’s rejoice the DC movieverse still has something to give to it’s fans.

The first article actually criticizes her, and with good reasons: ladies “can’t” be dismissed for aesthetic reasons, but many times (the majority, actually), they are pretty selective with guys.

They should’ve put “Themiscyra” in their signs. Boy, they are really not cutting corners with the movie’s advertising. Stupidly lame, but admirable effort.

(Linda Carter is *several* times way hotter tan GG, btw. And no, I’m not into mature women; not by far).

I searched the Forum and I didn’t find it, so anyway, sorry in advance if this is a repost…

    Uriko from “Bloody Roar II“.

Mail that to Hollywood for the next time they need to choose actresses to “bulk up” for action roles…most of the transformations involve big women slimming down while building muscle (although yes, I’m aware there are exceptions).
