My mother has described people in terms of their MB type since I was a child, and I have long discounted it as hokey When I took this test yesterday, I was surprised by its accuracy in describing me.

I know I’m basically reviving the dead to post this now but I’m surprised this question did not occur to me at the time. Despite your mother talking about it often, had you not taken anything like the Myers-Briggs before? I realized in re-reading what you said that it sounded as though you hadn’t taken one until shortly before posting this thread when you did. I also took away that you went from skeptic to impressed?

BTW, since reviving this thread may renew interest, I’ll supply another free online version that in my experience has been more accurate than the other one. It gives percentages of your preferences and two profile links. One being Type Logic which people have consistently reported as liking the descriptions better, and one to David Keirsey’s site where while I like the descriptions, I don’t like when labels are attached to the letters. I’ve observed it seems to confuse people more than help them understand the descriptions.

And a good rule of thumb is that these tests are not perfect so if the descriptions don’t MOSTLY sound like you, it probably isn’t.

    Official Trailer

🙁 I just watched the official trailer and it looks like it might just be another dumbed down program trying to pander to those with no attention span. All the flashy music, quick cut editing, and sounds of explosions and collisions.

Sagan never pandered to the dumb. He simply had a knack for explaining things in layman’s terms. He had a contagious outlook. He was inspirational: “The cosmos is also within us, We’re made of star stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.”

Neil deGrasse Tyson does have that quality. I very much hope they introduce real science for a new generation.
