ParticipantThat is bad news :(! I heard something similar happened when she was over in 2009 as well.
What’s curious is http://www.female-bodybuilders.org had an awesome 30 minute posing video of her available for purchase from before even then, probably shot after the 2008 Worlds in Santa Susanna, but now even that has disappeared! Did that turn out to be really bad experience for her or something, so she asked for it to be removed and decided to not do any more video shoots?
Anyway, I stumbled across her website http://www.geraldinemorgan.cl. It does has a lot of photos, although it is ridiculously over-flashified! There is one training video of her on there, but it is very poor quality. Hmm, if only there had been a way for her to have shot some HD footage of her training and posing to put on there :).
Oh well, here’s hoping the European girls were more open to the idea of doing a video shoot.

ParticipantQuadra-Blu does indeed live! This was a great idea. Is there any chance of IDing the women who took part?

ParticipantHey, I see the results for the Arnold Amateur are finally up around the place. Geraldine actually got 2nd, which is pretty darn good.

ParticipantProdigy, eh? I think I need to join based on that alone!
And damn, who is that chick at 0:22 with the armour-plated stomach muscles?

ParticipantI don’t like the tattoos either, especially in a contest, as they can hide the definition of the muscles and , IMHO, can mare what would otherwise be a flawless physique. However, bodybuilding and body art are both forms of body modification, so it doesn’t surprise me that the two often go together. Also, it has to pretty much be in female bodybuilder’s DNA to not care what mainstream society thinks, and that’s one of the reasons I love them!

ParticipantWow, I have to say that Jeff’s shots look a little bit flat compared to Gene’s! In Gene’s photos, she just looks like a Goddess descended from the heavens !
I was genuinely worried about Geraldine when she didn’t show at last year’s Arnold Amateur, following the terrible earthquake in Chile a week before. Now I think she must have been recruited by her Government to clear boulders and rubble with her super humanly strong muscles and they are even more massive as a result :woohoo: ! I really hope some of the female muscle websites got to shoot with her this time round.
Also, I would have to say that even with the absence of Rita Bello, the Arnold Amateur has once again stolen the show from the Professional competition!

Hey Reason,
I think it’s the camera angle playing tricks on your eyes. I’m quite sure if you put her side by side against women or other bodybuilders her “hugeness” would be very present.
For the record, after looking at Alina’s contest pics and comparing them with how she looked last year, I stand by my observation that she looks slightly less muscular.
Anyway, I put together this comparison pic, so you can make up your own minds:

However, I still thinks she looks great. She does appear to have a smaller waist and more definition, which is what the judges tend to look for, so good on her for improving her already outstanding physique and congratulations on her third place! Finishing only behind the big 2 in just her second Pro show is pretty darn impressive!
I’m really wondering what’s going to happen next year with the new Women’s Physique division and whether there is a place in it for a physique like Alina’s.

ParticipantWow, fantastic article! As long as female bodybuilders continue to be this articulate I don’t think they have anything to worry about. I think they should take matters into their own hands and form their own federation, as it’s clear that the IFBB, with the formation of the new physique division and cancellation of high profile shows like the New York Pro, no longer want them.
Also, I don’t think Zoa is against T&A spreads; it’s just that she wants more, which is fair enough. I actually think it would be silly for any FBB to condemn them. Personally, I’m pretty sure if it wasn’t for glamorous shots of female bodybuilders like Sharon Bruneau and Ericca Kern catching my attention growing up, I would never have discovered this sport to begin with!

ParticipantOh man, I had forgotten you lived in Christchurch ! From what I’ve seen of it on the news it looks really bad, although it’s hard to imagine what it would be like living through it and almost losing your home or loved ones. I know some other people that live there and they had some stories of some close calls as well. Some are even planning to move to a different city as they are worried that there will be another one.
Anyway, glad to hear that you’re all safe, and I hope you can get back on your feet soon! I’m sure we can all be patient until you can get updates happening regularly again.
