ParticipantSometimes I wonder how the creative process for these things goes:
"Let's make Dr. Doom a metal demon type character WITH POWERS! Oh and let's make sure he's pretty stupid too! Wait, why stop there – let's make him hang out with a bunch of hippies and be related to Dracula and, and, and…" etc. Rinse and repeat for Mr. Sinister.
Oops, ranting again.
You forgot the "and belch his organs out as a poisonous gas" bit for demon-Doom. 😉

ParticipantPersonally, I already feel the Ultimate Universe is – in someways – too closely paralleling the regular MU. Not just that but they've already done plenty of things poorly. Ultimate Fantastic Four is just horrible… started out ok but they ruined Doom. DOOM! There are plenty of ways they could have redone him that made him cool and not a carbon copy of his marvel character
Ultimate X-men has been pretty up and down and the fact that all the stories are all wrapped up in 6-8 issues leaves little room for excitement. Ultimate Spiderman has been diabolical from what I could bring myself to read of it and the run up to "Gah Lak Tus" has been almost painful.
In many ways, the Ultimate Universe isn't really any attempt at producing new material. Just a way of reaching new readers by not have decades of backstory to be intimidate by, while also reeling in existing fans with slightly new takes on old favourites and of course, the benefits of basically not having to come up with any new characters or stories – merely taking old ones and making them grittier and sticking in a few hundred references to i-pods.
Ah, rant-tastic. Anyway – quiet your blasphemous mouth 😉 We want Ultimate She-Hulk (so long as she is done well) 😀
Agreed. I've found Ultimate Spider-Man to be the most enjoyable of the Ultimate titles. Ultimate X-Men has its ups and downs (the Hellfire Club and Phoenix nonsense was so ridiculous) and the current rumors abounding about Ultimate Apocalypse's Horsemen leave me groaning.
I'd like to see Ultimate She-Hulk… but I worry. Something different would be nice, but… I'm just not sure they'd do her well. Something tells me she'd end up just a copy of herself from regular canon.

They won't. Don't worry. Besides, Ult.Hulk got that way because he screwed with the super soldier serum. Who's to say Jen didn't further perfect it and is gonna not only use it and become STRONGER than the hulk, but also keep her intelligence and rather "wild" streak? We can only hope!

ParticipantThey've introduced several Marvel characters as pathetic parodies of themselves. Son of Satan, Nighthawk, Power Man and Valkyrie are all comic relief. Sinister is delusional.
I'd argue the point of Sinister being delusional. In fact, at the end of his original appearance, Apocalypse appears at the very end of the issue, flesh and blood, instead of that makeshift statue. Sinister is told by "Lord Apocalypse" to "choke himself". From what is being passed around, Apoc /will/ be making an appearance (the writers have mentioned this a few times).
However, you're entirely right otherwise. I worry about what an Ultimate She-Hulk would look like. And really, considering how a lot of Ultimate has gone, she'll likely be handled very, very poorly. We'll probably end up with just a female monstrosity that bites the heads off people, much like Ultimate Hulk did.
