The Muffin man
ParticipantI agree with you on this, Muffin Man. Personally, I do not care much for pokemon, but it does sell, especially to the younger kids. It's just like with anything in business: if it sells, go with it. Again, I agree with Muffin Man. With these major titles, the gaem companies can push for newer things while still using something that people are familiar with. For example, there are 2 new Mario games coming out. One is another Mario RPG that features not only Luigi, but their baby counterparts as well. This is on the DS. Another game is something new. This one, as far as I know is called Super Princess Peach. Mario has been captured, and Luigi has been tied up. Peach stars in a platformer game for the DS. Like I said, new but similar.
By the way, Muffin Man, you forgot Megaman. ๐
I left Megaman off the PS2 list for the same reason I was kind of wary of putting GTA on there. Although GTA doesn't have a game on every console, and didn't start on an older console outside its' current homes' ancestor.

ParticipantGee guys, don't try and rip off Batman TOO hard.
"Quick She-Hulk! To the Nosferatamobile!"
*Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah NOSFERATA!*The Muffin man
ParticipantI dunno about the PSP thing. The Hot Shots at Sony have also said the PS3 is something like using 300% of your brain power or something.
But yes, the DS WILL be a possible Rev controller.
"Now if they'd just come up with something besides Mario, Metroid, Pokemon, and Zelda"
Halo, Madden, PGR, and DOA.
FF, MGS, Soul Calibur, GTA.
All 3 consoles have a certain franchise that rakes them in huge amounts of money.
Except Nintendos franchises have been around for almost 20 years now(Pokemons still a vet compared to Halo at like 10 years now), so they've got a bit more license to try and work with the characters(A pokemon adventure game soon, Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, and Metroid Prime).
Whereas the most DOA is trying for is a volleyball game to showcase huge, bouncy tits(Not neccasarily BAD) and Soul Calibur went multi-platform and decided to flip off the best-selling console.
See, I don't mind people disliking Nintendo. Not at all. But if you're gonna claim you've got some sort of problem with something, PLEASE make sure it's more than the companies 4 biggest franchises in Japan and the US.
That's like saying Marvel should stop making Spider-Man, Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four comics.

ParticipantI've never really understood why Mad Catz controllers are designed the way that they are. They look outlandish, can be uncomfortable and difficult to use, and they don't last long. Why do they keep doing that?
Hoping that you're incredibly cheap/retarded and keep buying Mad Catz crap to restock the mad catz crap?
The Muffin man
ParticipantAnd now Vivi from FF9 is in the game.
Thanks, Square. Now I have to buy KH 1 to catch up with the story, and then KH 2 to see Vivi.

ParticipantHave you even seen how much Sony's computers cost (that would be the computer, moniter, and all of the other "nececsary" accesories), Muffin Man? Or anything else they produce? I have family that works for Sony, and, trust me, they have a nasty safety net. Because of the way that Sony designs their products, you have a very limited choice of where you can go to get anything fixed. That means that Sony gets even more money. Sony will be hurt if the Playstation line fails, but, again, it won't kill them. They're like cockroaches. They have horrible business ethics, and they have products in just about every technological field.
To everyone else, I apologize for moving so off topic from this thread. The only thing that I can say is to enjoy the show. ๐
Differences aside, I think that both Muffin Man and I can agree that this game is a large step forward and that it is likely that we can expect more things of this caliber in the future.
One last thing, Muffin Man, I would like to continue this argument, but not here. I suggest that we send each other messages through the board or through regular email. Right now, we are likely causing tension that others can do without. What is the point of this board, if not to get away from our dreary existances and relate to other people who share our interests? This stress, while entertaining for some, ruins the sense of comraderie that this forum has established. So, to sum this up, lets take this argument outside.
Now we can continue ๐
also: I always get heated in console debates. I don't dislike gblock or Tara or anyone here(although I wish SOMEONE would stop hitting caps Lock :P), I'm just quite passionate about my gaming. Also: Tara, do your friends play Super Smash Bros. Melee alot? That game is HELL On your analog sticks. It's a great game, none the less, but once you get more advanced, you're almost always abusing the stick. That's really the only way I could see them buying new controllers so often, unless they're TERRIBLE at taking care of it. Nintendo sells peripherals by the truckload, sure. But this is how Nintendo gets theirs sold over Mad Catz – They make theirs quality, while Mad Catz just has 300 billion different ways to sell you a shitty controller skin on a flimsy case.

ParticipantOkay, Muffin man, I get your point, but there is till a couple of things that you are missing. First off, Nintendo makes more money that Sony per system because Nintendo only produces game systems and merchandise. Sony, on the other hand, produces many other things. Ergo, Nintendo focuses more on the quality of what they make, which is likely why everything that they produce is somewhat unique. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Nintendo's merchandise costs more. And I also believe that Sony is more advanced technilogically.
I've actually had this used quite an awful lot even before today.
1.I was refering to the consoles alone.
2.No, Sony is NOT technologically more powerful than Nintendo console-wise(anything else is a moot point).
3.There is no noticeable difference between Sony and Nintendo products, except in the case of UMDs which are mini-CDs anyhow, so it's a bit more understandable that the UMDs hit $40-50 a pop.Even though the Gamecube perfoms better than the PS2, the PS2, if memory serves, was actually finished long before the Gamecube was. Nintendo had a little longer to develope their system, but still had to rush in order to compete with the PS2. The next point is that you misunderstood what I said. Nintendo's games are better, and Sony's games are more for show. There are some good games in there, but they are usually pretty superficial and simply have very realistic looking graphics. Beyond that, though, Sony's games are somewhat lacking. The final thing that I'm going to say on this topic is this: yes, Sony is going to take a big hit if their Playstation series of products, but it will hardly be crippling. Like I said, Sony produces other things, so they have other revenue to fall back on. Nintendo, like Sega, doesn't have that safety net. If the Revolution fails (and I really hope that it doesn't) then it is likely that Nintendo will go the way of Sega.
No. Nintendo has been making at least 10% profit on all consoles for ages now. They only, VERY RECENTLY(in 100 years of business) slipped into the red zone. And no, Sony does not have a safety net, as the Playstation branch is currently the one that is putting Sony AS A WHOLE into danger.
The Muffin man
ParticipantPrecisely why I don't own a Gamecube. If you're not a fan of the Nintendo mainstays there isn't much call to have one. I can think of maybe three games I actually want for the system so maybe when the next gens come out and it gets down to 50 bucks or so . . .
What games DO you like then? Action titles, like RE4(Which was out 9 months before the PS2 version, so there's no excuse to wait), or Killer7 (which has much faster load times and sharper graphics than the PS2 version)? Or Strat-RPGs like Fire Emblem?
I really do not like when people act like Nintendo mascot titles can't possibly be good, or that it has no 3rd party support. You know who doesn't support it? EA. Wow, what a hit. Crappy sports titles.
And Tecmo. Oh no, we lose crappy games and tits.
Namco? They hate money. The GC version sold the best, but Namco still stiffed Nintendo.
Capcom? No, they're quite strong on the Cube.
Square-Enix? All they have is FF and KH at the moment, and FF is not impressive anymore. But what DO they have?
Mario Baseball, SSX Tricky, NBA Street, Mario Strikers. 4 different sports, 2 different companies.
RE4, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, and Killer7 for action titles(and the middle 2 are also great adventure games).
Fire Emblem, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos.I can do this for a while. People who claim "Nothing on the Cube makes me want it" are really just kind of fooling themselves, or trying to act like they aren't just being irrational. You wanna know ONE reason to buy the Cube? Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Buy it, spend an hour getting to know it(controls, then play a bit, get a character you like) and I guarantee you'll love it.
And if it's too different from playing on Xbox Live, hire a 12 year old to yell racial slurs in your ear.The Muffin man
ParticipantThey actually played up how hot she was. Unfortunately, they also made her look kind of dumb…
Something tells me that wasn't Fox' fault.
