unkn0wnxParticipantI think we have become so overly PC where anything and everything offends everyone. It’s getting a little silly to me.
The world will be a much safer place if we can only ban Slave Leia figure.

unkn0wnxParticipantI vaguely remember this game. Don’t seem to be too muscular

unkn0wnxParticipantThey wouldn’t use the 5’3″ actress to tackle a taller actor. That’s what the stunt/body double is for. For close ups and medium shots they’ll use the main actress. For long shots or quickly edited shots, the body double with the right height will be used.
Let’s put it this way. If Kate Mara was cast as Captain Marvel and a fight scene were to happen. They’d swap Mara out with Ronda Rousey and have her do all the physicality stunts.
Again, the height argument is pointless when it comes to movies. Acting ability and having someone be believable in the role is infinitely more important.
It’d be nice to get an actress who has a bulkier physique, but quite frankly no actress exists that has an incredible body and knows how to act. The talent pool selection is extremely limited. I’d rather have a talented actress with the wrong body type than a body builder who’s stiff and sounds like an idiot and can’t emote for crap.
But I really hate it when they swap out a skinny actress with a muscular double. Its as if we are too stupid to notice.
unkn0wnxParticipantDamn, I know I read somewhere that they needed to accommodate for height reasons. Ah well, must have been another show.
I will erase my Xena example and replace it with Lord of the Rings. Gandalf visiting the hobbits and Gimli who is actually a giant of a man in real life. I didn’t hear anyone complaining that this huge dude was cast as a dwarf!
Hugh Jackman is 6’2 and he played Wolverine who is suppose to be around 5’3. He did pretty well I think
unkn0wnxParticipant
unkn0wnxParticipantGuys, I don’t know why you keep on getting hung up on height.
Filmmakers can make anyone look gigantic or small.
Did you know that Xena was actually shorter than her co-star Gabrielle?
Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone are short guys and yet they appear larger than life in film. Now granted, someone like Kate Mara probably wouldn’t be able to pull off the height thing but it doesn’t matter.
What’s most important is 1.) Acting ability. 2.) Presence 3.) Physicality (in movement)
Seriously, stop getting hung up on height. That’s why they call it movie magic.
Yeah maybe it’s some kind of height fetish.
I agree with most of what you said, but Renee O’Connor is 5’4 while Lucy Lawless is 5’10
unkn0wnxParticipant59 yo Korean woman. She doesn’t even look 40.

unkn0wnxParticipantI just don’t see Wilde as Captain Marvel material
unkn0wnxParticipantI would never let any of my pet get that skinny. But the 50 yo woman is pretty hot for her age
