ParticipantHehe, that takes me back a couple of years trying to learn 3d software. ;D
I assume you're using Daz Studio correct? Nice stuff.

ParticipantOne man's art is another man's trash… er, something like that. 😉
In all honesty, I won't post my art unless I know it's in a forum where it is appreciated. Granted, it's not like I have much art floating around here and not that it's really art either but… I think what they said.

ParticipantGetting huge??!!! She IS huge!!!!! 🙂 😀 ;D ::)
Getting meaning I remember seeing her when she was "skinny" in comparison to now. 😉

ParticipantI can't speak for Tigersan. I think he's mentioned something about an anatomical book somewhere before but your best bet is asking him.
As for creating one, any program capable of loading a picture and allowing you to manipulate it in a variety of ways would be your best bet in creating a skin map. Lots and lots of time and trial and error too. Uriel and Tigersan may have some shortcuts though…

ParticipantThanks all. I was thinking the quads didn't quite match up well myself. Shoulders also needed some work. Time for tweaking. 😉

ParticipantThe single biggest headache from a practical perspective of "modeling" a character in a scene is clothes for me as well. I generally refuse to use most stock clothes utilizing what are referred to as morphs or conforming clothing.
I've pretty much stuck with purchased dynamic clothing, other clothing (conforming or morphable) made into dynamic cloth, and/or created dynamic clothing. There are several tutorials available at Renderosity on how to use dynamic clothing and it doesn't require me to do anything really other than set the parameters up I think will allow it to function correctly. The computer does the rest. However, this option is only available in Poser or other higher end products. DAZ Studio doesn't yet support it to my knowledge.
The real beast is trying to make your own skins for muscular women. You won't find any out there for sale so you're pretty much stuck making your own.
As for cost, really it's not that much in terms of "skins" and stuff Ritz (in comparison to other 3d programs). The main cost I found was in the software and the original character you want to use. I do more than just muscular women though so I have bought quite a bit of other stock items for use in other projects.

ParticipantThanks. I was trying to go more old school light fbb with this one. Now to just get a bump map made up for V4 and it 'should' be easier.

ParticipantI like 'em. I'm just quiet. 😉
